Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paints

Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paints Laguna Flamingo Surfboard Review Swatches Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paints | £4.99 each | LINK

There's something about the Summer time that makes me really start to love nail polish again. I think that because in the colder months my nails are so much weaker, I don't see much point in painting them. But come Summer time I'm obsessed with trying new, bright and fun nail polishes. I recently picked up a small selection of shades from the new Barry M Coconut Infusion range. I've heard so many great things about these polishes and with my love of of anything coconut, I was really excited to give these a try!

The three shades I picked up were: Laguna which is a beautiful purple toned blue, Flamingo which is a bright orange coral and Surfboard which is a lovely pale muted pink/ purple. There's some really pretty shades in this collection but I felt like these three were shades that I'd wear all through Summer. What's special about this range of polishes is that they are infused with coconut oils and water to make them really hydrating and nourishing for your nails. Over time they're meant to make your nails healthier and stronger, which is always something I look for in nail polishes!

Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paints Laguna Flamingo Surfboard Review Swatches Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
1 coat : Laguna, Flamingo & Surfboard

After a couple weeks of wear I have to say I'm really impressed with these nail polishes! They're super opaque and can easily be worn with just 1 coat, but I do like to build it up to 2 just so they look perfect. They also wear really well and without a top coat last around 3-4 days before any major chips start to appear. I do a lot of typing at work as well so it's great that my nails can still look great for that long!

The finish of these polishes is really shiny and glossy so there's no need for a top coat! They also say that you don't need to wear a base coat with these polishes as that allows the nutrients to go through to your nails and help make them stronger. I haven't noticed any staining with these polishes, but I would be careful with the brighter shades like Flamingo and Aloha (a bright hot pink).

I'm really loving these polishes at the moment and will definitely check out some of the other shades. I'm sure these will become a Summer staple product for me as the shades are so lovely and they last so well on the nails.

Barry M Nail Treatments

Barry M Super Mani Mask Bashful Nail Treatments Polishes Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Barry M Nail Treatments | £3.99 each | LINK

For as long as I can remember Barry M have always been a brand I've gone to for nail products. From nail colours, to nail effects and even treatments I've always found their range of polishes amazing and great quality. One of the newest ranges in their collection is a selection of nail treatments that are targeted to improve the condition and appearance of your nails. I've always suffered with really weak nails that are prone to snapping and breaking, so I love testing out different treatments to help improve them.

First up is the Super Mani which is a base coat treatment that you use twice a week to help improve the condition of your nails. This little wonder contains argan oil, vitamin E and keratin that strengthens, hydrates and nourishes your nails. This has become my go to base coat for when I paint my nails as it provides a smooth base for my nail polishes. I have found that if I wear this regularly it does help the appearance of my nails and they have been much stronger since using it. I've also found they're less likely to be flaky which is a big problem I have with my nails! This will definitely be a product I'll use all Summer to help strengthen up my nails and keep them looking healthy!

The other product I've been using is the Mani Mask which is a coloured nail polish with a hint of colour that also works as a treatment for the nails. I have the shade Bashful which is a beautiful blush pink with a matte finish that leaves your nails looking clean and healthy. I love simple shades like this as they're so easy to wear and go with every outfit. I was surprised how opaque this shade is as well, usually light pastel shades are very sheer but you can easily get away with just 1 coat of this polish! I haven't worn this polish enough to really gauge whether it's actually helped improve the condition of my nails, but I do love how this looks!

I'd love to hear if you've tried out these nail treatments and how you got on with them! I really can't wait to try the new Coconut Infusion polishes which also claim to nourish the nails whilst also offering a beautiful pop of colour - the shade selection looks incredible!

Spring & Summer Nail Polishes

Spring Summer 2013 Nail Polishes
Spring Summer 2013 Nail Polishes
Spring Summer 2013 Nail Polishes Swatches

As it's been a bit more sunny and "Spring" like in England for the past couple days, I decided to make a post on what nail polishes I will be wearing this Spring/ Summer! I'm a girl who loves bright nails and I really look forward to this time of the year where I can wear my colourful nail polishes. I have chosen 5 of my absolute favourites which I have loved wearing so far and probably will do so right through the Summer!

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in "Prickly Pear" (Review) LINK
Barry M is one of my favourite brands for nail polishes and this year they have released some amazing new finishes and effects! My first Spring/ Summer favourite is this gorgeous lilac shade in "Prickly Pear". This shade is so pretty and has a glossy finish which means you can have amazing looking nails without a top coat. Lilac has always been one of my favourite nail polish shades and I think it will look great all through Spring and Summer.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in "Blueberry" (Review) LINK
Yes another Barry M Gelly polish, but I just find the colour range of these polishes right up my street! "Blueberry" is a bright, bold blue which looks stunning on the nails after 2 coats. I've really been into blue nail polish recently and "Blueberry" has to be one of my favourite shades!

Nails inc. in "Royal Botanical Gardens"* (Review) LINK
I don't think I could ever get over how gorgeous this nail polish is! "Royal Botanical Gardens" is a bright cool mint shade and is part of the new "Trend Shades" by Nails inc. I think this shade will go perfectly with a tan and is one of the nail polishes I'm thinking about taking on holiday with me in July! This shade is so bright and colourful it just screams "Summer", I had to put it in my top 5!

Essie Nail Lacquer in "To Buy Or Not To Buy" (Swatch) LINK
I bought a set of 4 Essie polishes from TK Maxx last year and "To Buy Or Not To Buy" was the one that stood out to me this most. Again, this is a lilac/ lavender shade but is much lighter than "Prickly Pear" and has tiny blue shimmers running through it. Essie polishes have an amazing formula and their brushes make it so easy to apply, a big must have during the Summer when you want neatly painted nails. This is a really pretty pastel shade that is perfect for this time of the year!

Essie Nail Lacquer in "Off The Shoulder" LINK
This is one of the newest polishes in my collection (read the haul HERE) and has jumped straight on to my "favourite nail polishes" list! "Off The Shoulder" is a hot pink shade which has something about it that makes it look amazing on my nails! It's bright but not too in your face and just looks really pretty and girly. Pink nail polish is such a staple shade to wear during the Summer and this polish is my new go to one this year!
So these are the polishes that I think will look perfect this Spring and Summer! Barry M, Nails inc and Essie have to be my favourite nail polish brands. The quality and colour range of each of the brands is amazing and I think they are well worth trying out!

March Favourite's

March Spring 2013 Favourites Revlon Dr Jart Urban Decay Barry M Belle-amie
March Spring 2013 Favourites Revlon Dr Jart Urban Decay Barry M Belle-amie
I cannot believe how quickly April has come around! We're a quarter of the way through 2013 already, it seems to be whizzing by so fast! I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend and ate far too much chocolate than they were supposed to! I had a great weekend and spent it with my family and boyfriend eating roast turkey and lots of cakes (definitely going to have to start a diet this April haha!). Last month there were a few products that I had been reaching for a lot, plus a couple that I have just really enjoyed using. So in this post I am going to talk about these lovely little products!

♥ Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm LINK
This was a prize I had won from Chelsea's (Through Chelsea's Eyes) giveaway. I had never heard of or tried this brand before so I was very excited to try it out! I'm so glad I did because this is one of the nicest BB creams I have ever tried! The consistency of this BB cream is almost like a light weight foundation and blends out really well to give a light, natural coverage. Despite being a light coverage product, this BB cream does cover up and blend out imperfections very well. I've enjoyed using this on lazy days round the house with a little bit of powder to give a natural finish to my skin.

♥ Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters (Review) LINK
These are probably some of the most hyped up lip products on the beauty scene and I for one absolutely love them! The two colours I've been loving this month are Strawberry Shortcake and Berry Smoothie, both of which are pink shades. I've found these perfect for throwing on for college as they give a lovely flush of colour to the lips. I also love how moisturising and soft they feel on the lips! I can't wait to pick up some of the new shades that have just been released, especially Pink Lemonade and Juicy Papaya (they sound so yummy)!

♥ Urban Decay Eyeshadow Sparkle in Midnight Cowgirl LINK
This is one of those eye shadows that should be a staple in every girl's makeup collection! Midnight Cowgirl is a gorgeous shimmery nude champagne which is perfect to place all over the lid for a daytime look. I love using this when I'm going for a simple eye look and bolder lips as it gives your eyes that pretty hint of shimmer! Urban Decay is my favourite brand for eye shadows as the formula and colour selection are amazing!

♥ Barry M Basecoat, Topcoat & Nail Hardener in Clear LINK
This is my final favourite product from March and, despite looking quite boring, is probably my most favourite! This Barry M nail paint is a 3 in 1 base/ top coat polish that can help strenghen up your nails. As you may know my nails are very weak and constantly peel and snap off, so I thougth for just £2.99 I'll give it a go! This is probably one of the best, cheap clear polishes I have tried! Other ones I have tried just peel off and hardly protect my polish from chipping. This one however prevents my polish from chipping and has definitely made my nails a lot stronger! If I'm not wearing any nail polish I'll just apply 1 layer of this and I've found my nails hardly peel or split! Definitely a polish worth picking up if you have weak nails like me.

And they're my favourite products for March! I hope you enjoyed this post, as usual if there are any products you want a more in depth review on please just let me know in the comments!

Review | Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paints Review Belle-amie
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paints Blueberry Grapefruit Prickly Pear Plum Review Belle-amie
Left to right: Blueberry, Grapefruit, Prickly Pear & Plum
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paints Blueberry Grapefruit Prickly Pear Plum Swatches Review Belle-amie

I have always been a huge fan of Barry M's nail paints and over the years, I have collected quite a few of them! The quality and range of their nail paints is amazing for how cheap they are. One of the latest collections to be released was the "Gelly Nail Effects" which are meant to look like gel nails. I fell in love with the colour selection and decided to pick up two in Blueberry and Prickly Pear. I was then lucky enough to win Chelsea's, from Through Chelsea's Eyes, giveaway where I received 2 new shades in Grapefruit and Plum (plus another Prickly Pear which I gave to my mum because she loves lilac nail polish!).

I'll be honest and say that when I first tried these nail paints, I was rather disappointed! I found that they applied really thin and streaky and just didn't live up to the standard nail paints! However, I later found out that you need to apply these nail paints much thicker than normal nail polish in order to have an opaque finish. Or, you could build up lots of thin layers for the same result, but I don't think I would have the time to do that. In the photo I am wearing 2 thick coats of each polish and as you can see the result is lovely! These polishes are really nice to apply and the finish is opaque and glossy without the need of a top coat! But, because you need to apply so much nail polish, the drying time is so long! They take forever to touch dry and even after then you have to be extra careful because it's so easy to smudge and ruin the polish. I also find that once they are dry, as there's so much polish on your nail, they're quite easy to peel off and chip so a thin layer of top coat is essential to keep them on your nails!

Despite these faults, I think these nail paints are lovely and absolutely perfect for Summer! The colour selection is amazing and there isn't a shade that I wouldn't buy. If you love the look of bright, glossy nails then these nail paints will be perfect for you. There is also a Summer collection of shades which include: Lychee, Dragon Fruit, Greenberry and Papaya, all of which look so pretty. Papaya and Dragon Fruit are definitely the next ones to buy on my list though, especially that Barry M nail paints are usually on offer!

February Favourite's

February 2013 Favourites Rimmel Urban Decay Barry M Makeup Academy Lipstick Queen Review Belle-amie
February 2013 Favourites Rimmel Urban Decay Barry M Makeup Academy Lipstick Queen Review Belle-amie
February 2013 Favourites Rimmel Urban Decay Barry M Makeup Academy Lipstick Queen Review Belle-amie
February has been a really nice month for me in terms of beauty products. I've tried quite a few new products, but also rekindled my love for some older ones that have been hidden away in my makeup drawers! Now that it's (sort of) making its way to Spring time, I have been using some of the brighter and more colourful products in my collection. This post will show you want products I have been loving and using this month!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory LINK
This is the foundation I have been reaching for the most this month. In the Winter, I feel that my skin looks dull and pale so I use the Wake Me Up foundation to add a glow to my skin. This foundation has tiny bits of shimmer in to give you a dewy effect to your skin, so is perfect for perking up my dull complexion at this time of year. I also love the medium coverage it gives and how easy it is to blend with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush (these two products were made for each other!).

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm* LINK
You may have read the review I recently did of this product and seen how much I enjoy this beauty balm! I've used this nearly everyday for the best part of February as a primer underneath my Wake Me Up foundation. I love these two products together as the Urban Decay balm allows my foundation to apply really well and last all day. You can read my full review of this product HERE.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blueberry LINK
When I first tried this nail polish, I was quite disappointed with the formula and how thin it was. However, now that I have learnt to apply it thicker and build up the colour, I absolutely love it and has been the nail polish I've reached for the most this month! Like I've said in many posts, I'm loving blue nails at the moment and this is one of the prettiest shades I own. The main look I've done with this polish is painting all my nails with Blueberry and then using Barry M's Amethyst Glitter on my ring finger. Definitely try that out if you have the polishes!

Makeup Academy Lipstick in Shade 8 LINK
I've been loving wearing lipstick this month! I've featured this lipstick in a favourites post before and I must say, this is one of my favourite lipsticks I own. I love the deep red shade and that it has lots of gold glitter in! This was my staple Christmas time lipstick, but I still enjoy wearing it now. It has great pigmentation and is very comfortable on the lips. I highly recommend MUA lipsticks and you can read my review of them HERE.

Lipstick Queen Butterfly Ball Lipstick in Fly* LINK
Yet another lipstick, but this time, it's pink! I received this lipstick last year but didn't seem to use it that much. However, for February, this has become my every day lipstick! The colour is a sheer bright pink and looks beautiful on the lips. It's such an easy shade to wear with an amazing formula and think it will suit most skin tones. You can read my review and lip look with this lipstick HERE.

Haul | Beauty & Jewellery

Beauty Jewellery Haul Makeup Academy Cover Girl
Beauty Jewellery Haul Sally Hansen Barry M Angelica L'Oreal
Beauty Jewellery Haul Miss Selfridge Rings Earrings
Hello everyone! I hope you're having a lovely Monday and that going back to school wasn't too much of a struggle! Throughout half term, I've been popping into town and larger shopping centres and been doing a bit of shopping. Naturally, I bought far too much makeup and beauty bits, but this does mean I can show you a little haul post! Unfortunately this isn't everything, my camera is awful at taking photos of clothes close up, but hopefully I will get back into the swing of making "outfit of the day" posts again!

One of the first shops I went to was Superdrug to look at the MUA stand and see if there was anything new I needed to pick up! I was able to get my hands on the last Undress Me Too palette on the shelf (yay!) which is meant to be a good dupe to the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I thought that for £4, I may as well give it a try! I've used it a few times and will be doing a review on it soon. Next I picked up the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter. I don't actually own very many highlighters at all so I thought this would be a lovely extra to my collection! I also love the embossed pattern which is meant to be quite similar to a MAC highlighter. Finally I picked up a MUA blusher in Shade 5 Dolly. I've been after an orange toned blusher for quite a while and I thought this was a natural shade that I could wear everyday. It's nicely pigmented and builds up well on the cheeks!

Next I went to Boots to pick up a few nail polishes. I've wanted to try Barry M's Blue Moon and Nude for a while and luckily they were on a special offer of buy 2 and get £1 off! I've been really liking blue nail polishes at the moment and I think Blue Moon will be perfect for Spring! Me and my mum also picked up the new L'Oreal Top Coat Confettis to share. It reminded me of Illamasqua's egg shell nail polishes when applied over a pastel polish. I really recommend picking up this polish as it's a great dupe for about £10 less than the Illamasqua ones!

I also picked up an Angelica glitter polish in Crystal 09 from Primark for just £1. I actually use these polishes in my nail kit at college so I know they're really nice quality for such a good price! The glitter in the polish shines all differently pastel colours so I thought this would be lovely to use in the Spring and Summer!

Next, I managed to find a few beauty bargains in Poundland (where else?!) including the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure polish in Lavender Cloud. This is a white polish with a tiny hint of lilac and I think this will be lovely for the Summer when I have more of a tan. I also picked up 2 CoverGirl TrueShine lipsticks in Lavender Shine and Peach Shine. I believe these are discontinued products and as there are so many in my local Poundlands at the moment, I decided to try them out. They don't offer a lot of colour, more of a tinted sheen but they apply really well.

Finally, I picked up a jewellery set from Miss Selfridge, my favourite shop to buy from! I've been trying to find some pretty stud earrings and this set had 3 rings with matching earrings for only £2. I love the bow and rose designs the most!

Have you picked up any of the new MUA makeup recently?

Mini Haul | Makeup & Nail Polish

Makeup Nail Polish Poundland Haul Revlon Rimmel Barry M Makeup Academy Belle-amie
Makeup Nail Polish Poundland Haul Revlon Rimmel Barry M Makeup Academy Belle-amie
Revlon Lip Gloss Palette £1 | Barry M Nail Paints in Blueberry, Prickly Pear & Clear £3.99 & £2.99
Makeup Nail Polish Poundland Haul Revlon Rimmel Barry M Makeup Academy Belle-amie
Rimmel Lasting Finish Kiss & Stay Lip Gloss in 080 Cherry Blossom £1 | Makeup Academy Lipstick in Shade 1 £1
So I recently went to 3 of my favourite shops to pick up some beauty products: Boots, Superdrug and Poundland! I managed to pick up a couple items that I've wanted to try for quite a while plus some extras that "accidentally" fell into my basket.

The first things I picked up was a Revlon Lip Gloss Palette from Poundland. I've never seen this product before but because I like Revlon, I decided to give this a go! This little palette has a mini brush and 5 different lip glosses (there is one underneath which you can just about see) which consist of: a hot pink, a sheer white, a sheer glittery white, a nude/ brown and a vampy purple. The texture of the 4 lip glosses on top are quite gloopy, but once on the lips they blend out nicely and give a hint of colour. The consistency of the purple shade is much drier and harder to blend, which I really don't like. I don't think I'll get much wear out of this palette, but it was quite nice to try out and has a good selection of lip gloss shades.

The next product I bought from Poundland was the Rimmel Lasting Finish Kiss & Stay Lip Gloss in 080 Cherry Blossom. This is one of the nicest lip products I've found in Poundland! This is a combination of a cherry red lip stain and a clear lip gloss. The formula of the lip stain is amazing, it's very pigmented, opaque and creamy to apply. As it dries quite matte, your lips do feel dry but the clear lip gloss gives you the shiny finish. I find the gloss isn't the best in the world, so I usually pair it with a different one like Barry M. This lip stain also lasts a really long time and is actually quite hard to remove so is perfect for a night out as it won't transfer on to your glass or budge when you eat!

Next from Superdrug, I picked up a Makeup Academy Lipstick in Shade 1. You may be able to tell that I'm loving red lips at the moment, so I thought I would pick up yet another one to add to my collection! I love MUA lipsticks (you can read my review of them HERE) and this shade is no exception! The pigmentation is incredible and the formula is so creamy. I haven't bought a MUA lipstick in quite a while, but I'm glad to see they have made the bottom of the lipstick twist off so you have a mini pot of the product to use!

Finally, I was sucked into the 3 for 2 offer on all Barry M products at Boots. I've wanted to try the Gelly Hi-Shine Gel Effect Nail Paints for quite a while so thought this was a good of a time as any to pick some up. I chose Blueberry and Prickly Pear because I think these colours are so pretty for Spring and Summer! I have tried these and, despite the fact the colours are gorgeous, the formula isn't so great! With 1 coat these nail polishes are streaky and thin, so they definitely need 2 coats to make them look decent. As for the free product, I picked up the Basecoat, topcoat & nail hardener in Clear. I've been in need of a new top coat and nail hardener, so thought I would try this out! So far I really like it and has definitely stopped my nails from peeling and breaking as much - finally!

December Favourite's

December is one of my favourite months of the year. I love all the Christmas and New Year celebrations, spending time with family and justifying chocolate as breakfast. I can't believe how quick the last year has gone and now going into 2013, I want to show you what products I was loving in the final month of 2012.

Topshop Lip lipstick in Ohh La La - I'm slowly becoming a huge fan of Topshop's lipsticks and decided I wanted to add to my mini collection. "Ohh La La" is a pretty coral blush colour. I love these sort of colours and wore this paired with the lip gloss on Christmas (see the look HERE). The pigmentation of these lipsticks is great and the apply really well. You can see a full review of the Topshop lipsticks HERE.

Barry M Nail Paint in Rose Quartz Glitter - this is one of the prettiest nail polishes I have ever seen! It has small and large pieces of silver and pink glitter and looks beautiful as a top coat over a nude pink nail polish, especially Nails Inc's Elizabeth Street.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion - I got this in the Soap & Glory 'The Best Of All' gift set (which itself is well worth picking up if you see one) for Christmas and I have used this every evening before bed. The smell is lovely, with: almond, cocoa, yogurt, oats and honey, it's literally my favourite scent at the moment. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and the scent lingers on the skin for a good amount of time. I also like how it has a pump applicator so you don't end up wasting lots of product.

♥ Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I received the Real Techniques Core Collection brush set for Christmas which I was really excited about. The brushes are soft and are great for applying makeup. The one that stood out for my was the Buffing Brush and I think it's great to apply liquid foundation. It leaves my makeup smooth, streak free and almost gives my skin an 'air-brushed' affect. I'm so glad I finally got my hands on this brush set!

Barry M Lip Gloss in Coral 11 - I can't get enough of Barry M's lip glosses. I featured one in my last favourites post and now I have a new one I've fallen in love with! This gloss is a coral colour with no shimmer and I think it goes perfectly with the Oh La La lipstick. The smell is, as always, amazing as it smells like the fruit salad sweets!

Makeup | Christmas

Christmas day is always such an exciting day to do my makeup, I feel like I have to use every piece of makeup I got that day! I also got the Real Techniques Core Collection brushes which I was so excited about! So far I'm really liking them and I used them to create this look.
I thought I would make a quick little post showing what makeup I was wearing this Christmas.

Stila Angel Whitening Powder in Shade B
Bloom Cosmetics Mineral Blusher in Rosie
Benefit Sha La Lovely brown eye shadow (for my brows)
Benefit She's So Jet Set Makeup Kit - They're Real mascara and Champagne please, Pretty in mink & Elegant espresso eyeshadows

As you can see I went for neutral eye shadows and nude lip with big lashes. I decided to wear a pair of Eylure Naturalite Lashes in Super Full 100. I only ever wear lashes on special occasions, and of course, this day was! I loved the length of these ones and they made my lashes look so much fuller. These lashes do come with an adhesive, which is okay but obviously not the best. They lasted a good amount of time and I think they really made my makeup look complete.

Hope you had a lovely Christmas!

November Favourite's

Dodgy winter lighting makes my pictures look so weird!
Today is the 1st of December, which means Christmas is literally days away! I'm so excited! I love spending the day with my family, eating good food and swapping gifts with everyone. But saying that, where has the year gone?! I remember last Christmas as if it was yesterday and can't believe we're going into 2013 in a few weeks.
I have been enjoying a few products this month, so I thought I would share them with you.

Batiste Lace Dry Shampoo - I picked this up a while ago in a haul and said how nice it smelt and that I'd used it a couple times. I use this everyday that i haven't washed my hair and it leaves it smelling fresh, grease free and with lots of volume at the roots. I never used to be a huge fan of Batiste but now I can't get enough!

2True Liquid Eyeliner in 01 Black - I've been into very clean makeup this month where I do a nude lip and thick eyeliner. This is the best liquid liner I have used and it only costs £1.99 from Superdrug! It's so easy to apply, is very pigmented and stays on my eyes all day. Can't fault this product, I love it!

Superdrug's Vitamin E Skin Care Nourishing Night Cream - I've never bothered with night creams and usually used my day moisturiser at night. But I saw this in Superdrug for £2.99 and decided to give it a go because I had seen good things about other products in this line. At first when I used it, I thought I'd had an allergic reaction, but I think I narrowed it down to a different cleanser I had used the same day as my skin is perfectly fine now. It's super nourishing and hydrating so you only need a little bit. It's full of vitamins A, B, E, F and H as well as antioxidants which are great for the skin. My skin's been feeling extra soft and hydrated since buying this so would definitely recommend it for people with dry skins!

Makeup Academy Lipstick in Shade 15 Juicy - This is the lipstick I always use to create a nude lip (I think the lighting was weird when I took the picture, so it isn't as orange in real life). It's an orange toned nude which I think suits me well. I do find this lipstick a little dry, but I always pair it with the Barry M lip gloss in this picture. I'm a huge fan of MUA's lipsticks, and I have a review post about them HERE.

♥ Barry M Limited Edition Lip gloss - This lip gloss came free with an Impulse body spray, so doesn't actually have a name. It's a standard nude coloured gloss with no shimmer in, so is perfect for an everyday look. The best thing about this lip gloss is that it smells of caramel! It's amazing! I highly recommend Barry M lip glosses!

That's not as bad as some other posts I have seen! Rather pleased with myself. To be honest, I do use a lot of magazine freebies and Poundland products, so I haven't used the RRPs of them! I also haven't included brushes, but if you would like a post about my daily makeup brushes or any reviews then do leave a comment.

Nails Of The Day | Stars & Glitter

Left to right: Essie 'To Buy Or Not To Buy' | Revlon 'Star' | Barry M 'Silver Glitter' | Barry M 'Hologram'
Hey everyone!
So today I have another nails of the day post! I'm going out tonight and because I can't have my nails painted very much (blame college!), I wanted to make my nails have an extra 'something' than usual.
This look is a glitter ring finger and nail tips than would be perfect for winter because of all the cool colours.

I started with a base coat from The Nail Doctor Strengthening kit (review coming soon) to prep my nails for all the polish. I then applied 2 coats of Essie's 'To Buy Or Not To Buy' which is a cool, lilac colour with blue shimmer. Then over my ring finger, I applied about 3 coats of Revlon 'Star' which is a mixture of navy and silver glitters. I then left this over night to make sure it was completely dry for the next steps.
The next day I applied about 2 coats Barry M's 'Silver Glitter' to the ring fingers. Whilst it was still wet, I use the pointy end of an orange wood stick to pick up some of the chunkier glitters in Barry M's 'Hologram'. This makes the nail more interesting as it has different sized glitters on.
For the tips, I used Nailene Perfect Tips strips (as I am not a neat painter) and applied a coat of 'Star' and 'Silver Glitter'. I then waited for about 40 minutes and peeled the strips off. If you do it any earlier, the glitter will just peel off too. Finally I used the top coat from The Nail Doctor kit! So much nail polish haha!
I love how it turned out considering I rarely do tip colour/ glitter to my nails.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Nails Of The Day | Once Upon A Time

Left to right - Revlon 910 Barely Peach | Revlon 762 Plum Attraction | Barry M 210 Once Upon A Time
Today I have a autumn/ fall type nail look that I think would be great for Bonfire night! The little strands of purple and silver look like mini fireworks and add texture to your nail.
I have a layer of Barely Peach by Revlon as my base coat and then 2 layers of Revlon's Plum Attraction. This is a lovely plummy purple colour with blue and pink shimmer running through it. It has a very glossy finish so I didn't bother with a top coat today!
I then applied 2 layers of Once Upon A Time by Barry M to my ring fingers. Chunky glitter polishes can be hard to work with because you can get a lot of the clear nail polish, but not a lot of the glitter. My advice is to apply a normal coat of the glitter polish and then take some of the glitters that are sitting inside neck of the bottle. These won't have much nail polish on them, so you can stick them to your wet nail allowing you to easily have more glitters on your nail. If you kept layering up the nail polish, it would get too thick and either smudge easily or peel off a couple hours later.

Hope you like this nail look!

Nails Of The Day | Raspberry

So I thought I would do another nails of the day post with one of my favourite Barry M nail paints! This is Raspberry, a lovely pink toned red which I think is great for Autumn. Here I have 2 layers of this polish to create the opaque and glossy finish. In real life it's a bit darker and I compliments my skin tone much better than a post box red does. If you haven't picked up this nail polish yet, now's a great time because it's such a nice colour for the cooler months!

You can buy Barry M nail paints from Boots, Superdrug and Barry M's website.

What's your favourite nail polish for Autumn?

What I Got For My 18th Birthday!

This post isn't to brag about things I got for my birthday, but just to show you what I got if you're interested and maybe give ideas for others buying for an 18 year old girl!

From my mum, dad and sister
Me To You 18th Teddy
Buckingham Silver Clasp Bangle
Brown & Harris Bath Melts
Barry M Nail Paint in Pink Flamingo
Dorothy Perkins Gold Heart Necklace
Topshop Lipstick in Infrared

I also got the Nikon Coolpix L310 Bridge camera, but as I was taking the photos with it I haven't photographed it! Here's the LINK to where mine was from if you want to check it out! It's a lovely camera, but I'm still playing around with settings until I can get my photos of good quality!

From my boyfriend
Hugo Boss Orange Eau de Toilette
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Midnight Cowgirl
Me To You With Purse Ornament

He also bought me some Kinder eggs, but I've already eaten them! I was really shocked to find he bought me the eyeshadow, but so grateful because it's so pretty!

From my nan and grandad
Pandora White Leather Bracelet with 18th, Flower and Heart Silver Charms

I've always loved the leather versions of the Pandora bracelets, and because it was my 18th my nan and grandad thought it could be a lovely way to give me a special present. I got to go and choose the charms myself and I absolutely love it!

From my neighbour
 Thorntons Chocolates

I got quite a few chocolates but thought the box was pretty and the chocolates are so nice!

So that's what I got, plus a bit of money and a few bottles of wine haha! Hope you enjoyed this post or it helped you think of some presents!
