Pretty Pink Lip | Lipstick Queen & DuWop Venom Gloss Review

Lipstick Queen swatch | DuWop Venom Gloss swatch | Lipstick Queen & DuWop Venom Gloss together
I'm always on the look out for products that work together to create a perfect combination. I'm a huge fan of lipstick and slowly getting there with lip gloss, and I love finding a lipstick and gloss that compliment each other really well. I've recently been wearing this pretty lip look which I have created from two new products; a Lipstick Queen lipstick and a DuWop Venom Gloss lip gloss.

The Lipstick Queen lipstick is part of the Butterfly Ball collection and is in the colour Fly. This lipstick is a bright pink shade with glitter in. It also has a turquoise iridescence running through it, which gives it a beautiful shimmer and when on the lips, makes your teeth look brighter. I have definitely noticed this effect and think it's a lovely extra to a lipstick.
The formula of the lipstick is very moisturising as it has vitamin E and aloe vera in it. It glides on really easily as well for quick application. It's also quite a sheer lipstick (like a butterfly's wing), but the colour is definitely buildable for a more intense pink look. As the product is quite sheer, the staying power of the product isn't amazing, probably a couple of hours before you need a touch up.
I also love the purple packaging. It feels very sturdy and strong, so will last a long time. I love the simplicity of the product and how small it is, so it's perfect to throw in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day.

The DuWop Venom Gloss in Pink Champagne is a perfect match for the lipstick. It's a pretty pink colour with golden shimmers in it. The formula of this lip gloss is amazing. I haven't found it to be sticky at all and it's sheer enough to go over any lipstick, but gives it an extra hint of pink. I also love the spicy smell of this lip gloss and think it's perfect for this time of year.
The applicator of this product isn't the most expensive looking, but it is great for applying on the go. I also like the fact the tube is see-through so you easily know which colour you're picking out from your makeup bag.

Together these two lip products create a pretty, shimmery pink lip that I think is perfect for any time of year.

My Top 6 | Blushers

My next top 6 makeup products post is on my favourite blushers. I usually go for a pink blusher as I find it compliments my skin the best, but depending on what overall look I am going for decides which shade I will pick. See my last two Top 6 posts for lipstick HERE and lip gloss HERE!

Swatches from first photo | Swatches from second photo
Left to right:
Collection 2000 Blush in 04 Trouble: this is a rosy pink blush with shimmer in it. It's a very easy shade to wear but because there is shimmer in it, I don't apply a lot of it otherwise my cheeks look very shiny. These blushers have a nice formula and pigmentation and blend very easily.

Collection 2000 Blush in 02 Bashful: this blusher is more of a coral colour with no shimmer in it. Again it's easy to blend and has a lovely colour pay off on the cheeks.

Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks in Pink Cloud: a very soft light pink that gives a lovely flush of colour to the cheeks. The product is quite build-able so if you want a more intense colour you can achieve this. It's also a great everyday blusher as it has a natural finish (everyday makeup).

Makeup Academy (M.U.A) Blusher in Shade 2: this is a lovely pink blush that again can be worn as an everyday blusher as it gives a pretty flushed finish. It has little bits of shimmer in but not too much to make your cheeks shiny. The colour is also build-able and has good staying power, especially for the fact it only costs £1!

George at Asda Shimmer Me! Shimmering Powder in 2 Cherub: this product offers quite a lot of colours in one. The pink section can be used as a shimmer blusher and the white on its own as a highlight. In the swatch I mixed all 5 colour strips together to give a pretty shimmery rosy pink. With products like this you can mix different sections of the product to make different colours. I only use a little bit of this because there is a lot of shimmer in it. I find this product great for the Summer.

No7 Poppy King Blossoming Lip and Cheek Duo: this is a very pigmented rosy pink colour that can be used as a cream blush or a lip stain. It's a lovely product to place on the apples of the cheeks and have another powder blush on top to blend it in. Again it's great for Summer as it doesn't give you a caked powder look.

My Top 6 | Lip Glosses

In my last top 6 makeup products (lipstick) I got some positive response to do some more of these posts, in particular including drugstore/ high street makeup. So these are my 6 most reached for lip glosses. I have said before I do not wear it on a regular basis, but there are some lipsticks that need some form of glossy finish and these are the ones I like.

Swatched in the same order as above
Left to right:
No7 Poppy King Blossoming Lip Gloss: this is a lip gloss that I got in one of those little sets you can get from Boots at Christmas. I actually bought the set myself in the sale and it came with a cream blusher/ lip stain, a lipstick brush and another tube lip gloss. I like this lip gloss because it is one of the lip products that when you apply it it changes colour due to the alkaline on your lips. So when it comes out the tube it is clear and when it has been on your lips for around 30 seconds it changes to a really pretty pink (can go even darker than the swatch). Because it does this, it states that it will change to a unique shade to suit your skin tone, which I think it does.

Barry M Limited Edition (the pink one): this is the first out of two Barry M lip glosses that I got free with an Impulse body spray. It's a very light pink gloss with pink and some blue/ purple shimmer. It's a very easy gloss to wear as it's sheer and can be worn over many lipsticks. Another thing I like about this lip gloss is the smell! I can't work out exactly what the smell is but there is definitely some kind of strawberry or raspberry in it, which makes it smell divine!

Barry M Limited Edition (the nude one): again another lip gloss I got free with an Impulse body spray. It's a nude pink gloss with faint gold shimmer. Like the pink Barry M gloss I love the smell, it reminds me of Caramac bars so it smells like caramel! This is something I love about Barry M lip glosses and makes you want to keep reapplying it throughout the day. (I am now really craving a Caramac bar haha!).

Natural Collection Juicy Lips Gloss in Cherry Drop: the main thing that attracts me to this lip gloss is the colour in the tube! It's a hot pink with silver shimmer which pick up all different colours. It's not very pigmented once on the lips but does give a pretty pink shimmer. Again I think this is a great product to use over a pink or nude lipstick. The smell isn't too great, it smells like artificial cherries but once it's on the lips the smell starts to fade.

Fearne Glossy Lips: this is another lip gloss I received at Christmas that was in a Boots makeup set. I love this gloss as you can wear it by itself as it's an opaque pink colour. There isn't any shimmer in this gloss and isn't very sticky. I also really like the packaging of this product, especially the handle detail.

Collection 2000 Cream Puff in Cotton Candy 1: this was mentioned in my June Favourites post because this is probably my favourite lip product ever! It's a really soft lip cream that has a matte finish. I love wearing this on its own or even underneath another lip product such as Revlon's Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake. i also have this in a red/ coral colour but the pink is definitely my favourite. It's more drying that normal lip glosses so you do need to wear a balm with this product too.

I would like to say hello and thank you to my new followers :) I can't believe I've reached 50 followers! I've been blogging for a month today and I thank you all so much for joining me on my blog!

What are your favourite lip glosses?
