Spring Hair Care

Spring Hair Care Routine Shampoo Conditioner Mask Super Drug Toni And Guy Review Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

I love swapping up my hair care quite a lot and I'm always looking to try out new products. As my hair is pretty dry, fine and naturally curly I usually go for products that really hydrate it and make it feel soft and healthy again. Typically in the Spring, people tend to go for hair care that's lightweight and helps control oils to leave your hair feeling fresh, but as my hair is quite dry all year long I still stick to my super hydrating products. So with some new additions to my hair care routine I thought I would share with you what new products I have been loving recently!

Spring Hair Care Routine Shampoo Conditioner Mask Super Drug Coconut Sweet Almond Toni And Guy Review Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond Shampoo and Conditioner | £2.29 each | LINK
My shampoo and conditioner is one factor of my hair care routine that I like to swap up quite often. I feel that my hair gets used to them quickly so I always have a few different ones on the go that I can swap and change when needed. One range that I've been really enjoying recently is actually a Superdrug own line - the Coconut & Sweet Almond Shampoo and Conditioner designed for dry/ damaged hair. At £2.29 a pop (and sometimes just over £1 when it's on offer!) this bargain shampoo set is easy on the purse and works wonders with my hair!

I love coconut scents so this range is right up my street and with the added benefits of the coconut oil and almond extract this duo leaves my hair feeling really soft, shiny and smelling lovely! It's really gentle and doesn't feel like it's weighing your hair down, yet it still offers a lot of hydration and nourishment to your hair. I'm a big fan of Superdrug own products (I use quite a few products from their Vitamin E skincare range) and I love that they're cruelty free, suitable for vegans and amazing quality! I've almost gotten through a whole bottle of the shampoo and I'm halfway through the conditioner but I've already got my back ups of this product - a real winner with me!

Spring Hair Care Routine Shampoo Conditioner Mask Super Drug Toni And Guy Reconstruction Mask Leave In Conditioner Review Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Toni & Guy Reconstruction Mask | £6.39 | LINK
As my hair is really dry, I've recently starting using the Toni & Guy Reconstruction Mask as a deep conditioner in the shower. Even though it's designed as a mask and should probably be used once a week, I like to use this along side the Coconut & Sweet Almond Conditioner as a really deep conditioning treatment every time I wash my hair. I probably keep this on for just a minute or so but it always leaves my hair feeling so soft, sleek and helps tame frizziness - the bane of curly hair!

I've become a big fan of Toni & Guy products over the past few months and this had definitely been a stand out product for me. I feel like it's made the lengths of my hair much stronger and I can tell my hair has grown a lot since using it! This also has a really nice scent that lingers on your hair long after you've washed it out. Definitely give this a try if you're after a new hair mask or deep conditioning treatment!

Toni & Guy Leave In Conditioner | £5.19 | LINK
I think I may have mentioned this product on my blog before, but never gone into much depth about it. This is another conditioning treatment from Toni & Guy but one that you apply to wet hair and just leave in. I suffer with pesky baby hairs that never seem to go away so I like to use this product to banish any remaining frizziness and help smooth out those little hairs. Even though I use so many conditioning products on my hair, I always notice a difference if I don't apply this one in particular. It just adds that extra softness and sleekness that my hair really craves. This little tube has lasted me a very long time as well so I think it's great value for money and one that I'll keep on purchasing!

So these are a few hair care products that I've been really enjoying recently. I would love to hear what your favourite products are for perfect Spring time hair - like I said, I'm always trying new ones out! I hope you enjoyed today's post and that you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend!

Review | BiOrganics Salon Secret Range

BiOrganics Hair Therapy Salon Secret Range Replenishing Shampoo Treatment Elixir Hair Perfecting Oil Ingredients Directions Review Belle-amie

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well and enjoying the gorgeous weather we've been having recently! Today I have a few products to review from BiOrganic's new hair care line; the Salon Secret range. This new range is a designed to help dry, damaged and frizzy hair which has been caused by heat, colour and the environment. My hair is pretty damaged, mainly from heat and bleach, and I can find it goes frizzy has it has a natural curl to it. I thought this range would be perfect for me and I was very excited to see how the products left my hair!

BiOrganics is a luxury hair care brand that uses natural and organic products to deliver salon like results. They are also a cruelty-free brand and all of their products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans! In this range there is: a shampoo, a treatment (which acts like a conditioner) and a hair oil. All of the products contain Argan oil and Ylang Ylang which work together to soften hair and reduce frizz. Finally, they are all free of SLS, parabens, perfumes and artificial colours making them gentle and all round good for your hair!

Salon Secret Replenishing Shampoo | £11.50 for 250ml | LINK
The first product from the Salon Secret range I tried was the Replenishing Shampoo. This shampoo is designed to help repair and moisturise damaged hair whilst protecting it from further damage by strengthening it. You only need to use a small amount of the shampoo and it comes out as a clear liquid which doesn't lather up when massaged into wet hair due to it being SLS free. The Replenishing Shampoo does leave my hair feeling soft and clean, so despite not looking like it's cleaning your hair, it actually is! My one issue with this shampoo is the scent - it's a very strong lavender smell which won't be to everyone's taste, but I do find the smell doesn't linger on the hair after being washed out. I find that the shampoo washes out very easily and doesn't leave any product or residue on your hair, leaving it weight-less and very soft! This is a great shampoo that works really well and I love the fact it's free of all the unnecessary chemicals that you find in other hair products!

Salon Secret Replenishing Treatment | £15.50 for 250ml | LINK
Next up I tried out the Replenishing Treatment. I think this is a great products as you can either use it as a normal conditioner and leave it on for a couple minutes, or use it as a deep-conditioning treatment/ mask and leave it on for around 10 minutes. Again, the treatment is designed to  help add shine and moisture to your hair and make it more manageable. It also uses Sunflower seed extract to provide UV protection which helps protect colour treated hair! The treatment comes with a pump which I really like as you can control how much product you use. As my hair's quite thin I use half to 1 pump of product and apply it to the lengths of my hair. Like the shampoo, I find the treatment very easy to wash out and it leaves my hair so soft and smoothe. It has the same lavender scent as the shampoo, but again it's hardly noticeable once you've washed the product out. I've really enjoyed using this treatment and think it's done wonders for my hair as it's a lot stronger than other conditioners I have used!

Salon Secret Elixir Hair Perfecting Oil | £13.00 for 50ml | LINK
The final product I tried from the Salon Secret range was the Hair Perfecting Oil which contains the Argan oil and Ylang Ylang to smooth and improve your hair! It can also speed up blow-drying time and protects from heat styling so is a great multi-tasking product! I'm a huge fan of hair oils and I have to say this is one of the nicest oils I have tried. The formula is quite thin so doesn't weigh down my hair plus it is absorbed very quick so doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy. I like to use this when my hair is wet and I apply just under a pump of product to the lengths of my hair. I find this leaves my hair so soft, defined and shiny! I also like that the bottle is plastic and has a pump so this will be perfect to take with me on holiday as it's not as prone to breaking. I've really enjoyed this hair oil and it has made my hair so much healthier in the past few weeks of using it - I would highly recommend people with damaged hair to give it a go!

So these are my opinions of the new BiOrganics Salon Secret range. I've really enjoyed using these products together over the past few weeks as they have made my hair feel so much stronger and healthier. If you're looking for a higher end hair care brand that is free from chemical nasties and is cruelty-free, I would definitely recommend you trying BiOrganics! You can also buy the Salon Secret products in bundles which will save you money by doing so! You can but the full range for £35 HERE or just the shampoo and treatment for £25 HERE.

Review | John Frieda Luxurious Volume

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Hair Care Products
John Frieda Luxurious Volume Hair Care Products
John Frieda Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster and Touchably Full Shampoo
John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchable Full Conditioner and Volume Refresh Dry Shampoo

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well and had a lovely weekend! Today I am going to be reviewing some products from the John Frieda Luxurious Volume range that I was kindly sent to try. As you may have read in my hair care post, I suffer with very fine hair and I am always looking out for products that can add that bit of volume! I especially lack lift and volume at my roots because my hair is very long and weighs itself down. I was very excited to try these products as I've had positive experiences with John Frieda products (especially the Sheer Blonde Tone Correcting Shampoo and Conditioner) and think they're brilliant value for money!

The John Frieda Luxurious Volume product range has recently been improved and now comes in this bright turquoise packaging that really stands out on the shelf! All of the products in this range are targeted at fine hair and are designed to give thickness, fullness and lift without weighing down your hair. They also have the same fresh, clean scent that I really like as it makes your hair smell freshly washed all day!

John Frieda Touchably Full Shampoo* & Conditioner* 250ml [£5.89 each]
The first John Frieda Luxurious Volume product I tried was the Touchably Full Shampoo. This shampoo is designed to gently cleanse your hair to remove any product residue to leave your hair clean, fresh and volumised! The Touchably Full Shampoo comes out as a clear liquid and is very easy to lather up on the hair. This is something I like in a shampoo as it feels like it's actually cleaning my hair and doing its job properly! Even though it creates a good lather, this shampoo is very easy to wash out and leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean!
After shampooing, I then used the Touchably Full Conditioner. The conditioner is meant to give weightless conditioning to leave your hair feeling soft and full of volume! I can agree that this is light weight as the consistency is much thinner than other conditioners I have used before, but this means your hair can keep some of its natural volume and texture for fuller looking hair! Despite the consistency being thin, the Touchably Full Conditioner left my hair feeling really soft and healthy. These two products work really well together and I love the natural looking lift they give the roots of my hair. I also noticed the lengths of my hair were much fuller looking and not thin and limp like they usually are!

John Frieda Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster* 25ml [Approx. £2.00]
The next product I tried was the Blow Dry Lotion Root Booster. This product is designed to be used on towel-dried hair and is then sprayed over your hair, focusing at the roots to give you volume at the crown. You then blow dry as normal and you are left with fuller looking hair with a lot of lift at the roots! I was worried about spraying this in my roots as products like this can leave a greasy residue and make your hair look horrible even though you've just washed it! However, I found the Blow Dry Lotion very light weight and it didn't feel like I had product in my hair at all, so that really pleased me! The results of using the blow dry lotion were good, my roots had a lot more volume than when I leave my hair to dry naturally plus the lengths of my hair were fuller looking but not frizzy! One problem I found with this product is that the pump doesn't always allow the product to spray evenly across the hair. I had to spray it a couple of times to get the pump working properly and then I could use it on my hair. As I don't blow dry my hair on a regular basis (I find my curls look better when they've dried naturally), I probably wouldn't repurchase this product but I know I will use it whenever I can as I like the volume it gave at my roots!

John Frieda Volume Refresh Dry Shampoo* 150ml [£5.89]
The final product from the Luxurious Volume range I tried was the Volume Refresh Dry Shampoo. This was probably my most favourite product out of the 4 as I do enjoy a good dry shampoo! This product works by refreshing your hair on days it hasn't been washed and revives any volume you have lost! You focus this product at the roots which is where the hair can get the oiliest on days it hasn't been wash. This product does exactly what it says on the bottle and is one of the nicest dry shampoos I have used! The smell (like the rest of the products) is fresh and clean so makes your 2nd or even 3rd day hair smell and feel like it's just been washed! The product comes out as a fine mist and leaves absolutely no colour or residue on your hair, perfect for us darker haired ladies! I find this dry shampoo really does banish any excess oils on my hair, gives it a nice amount of volume and leaves it looking and feeling fresh.

Overall, I have really enjoyed trying out the Luxurious Volume range and will definitely included the products into my hair care routine, especially if my hair is feeling limp and lifeless! All of the products mentioned gave my hair volume which lasted around 1 to 2 days and the dry shampoo was brilliant at maintaining that volume, which I think is great! I would recommend anyone trying this range if they have problems with creating volume and lift with their hair. For me these products didn't give me the effect of big and volumised hair, just a natural lift that will makes my hair a lot easier to work with! Of course this will depend from person to person as everyone's hair is different. I also thought you'd like to know, John Frieda have their own YouTube channel and they have a video (watch HERE) all about creating volume with the Luxurious Volume products. If you're interested in using these products to give your hair that volumised finish, the video is well worth a watch!
