New Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipsticks

New Soap And Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipsticks Nude Pink Naked Talent Pink Up Girl Review Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipstick | £9.00 each | LINK

Ever since trying my first Mother Pucker lipstick from Soap & Glory a couple years ago I have been pretty much addicted to their entire lipstick line! Over the years I have bought nearly every shade that Soap & Glory have to offer. My 2 favourite shades are The Missing Pink (review) and Perfect Day (review) and I swap between these colours pretty much everyday. I just love the beautiful formula, texture and scent of these lovely lipsticks. When I heard they were bringing out 24 new shades, my heart skipped a beat and I was so excited to try them out!

On a recent shopping trip I popped into Boots and took advantage of the buy one get one half price offer and treated myself to 2 of the newest shades available. I would have bought the entire collection then and there, but I thought I would try out a couple first and then slowly pick up some more - plus I don't think my bank account would have been too happy! The 2 shades I decided to go for were Naked Talent from the nude shade line and Pink Up, Girl from the pink line. There is also a red shade range which has some gorgeous shades in that I really want to try!

The first thing that struck me about these lipsticks is the new gorgeous metallic packaging. Each shade range has its own colour too, so the nudes come in a beautiful golden tube, pinks in a light metallic pink and the reds in a lovely crimson shade. The packaging is still really sturdy too and definitely feels amazing quality for the price.

Naked Talent was a shade that really stood out to me because I don't own many nude lipsticks in my collection. As I'm fair skinned, I tend to shy away from nudes as they can easily wash me out. But because Naked Talent has a gorgeous red/ brown toned to it, I find it suits me really well as it's one of those "your lips but better" shades. It's such an easy shade to wear and is perfect to pair with a smokey eye for a night out or just to wear everyday for a natural look.

Pink Up, Girl is a classic mid-tone pink shade that I think will easily suit any skin tone. It's not too bright so can be worn sheerly for a flush of colour or you can build it up for a more intense pink look. I love a pink lipstick as much as the next beauty blogger, so this will definitely be a shade I'll be wearing all Summer long!

Both of these lipsticks have a satin finish which is personally my favourite kind of finish. They give you the perfect amount of colour pay off, feel super comfortable and smooth on your lips and just give a pretty finish to your lips. There is also a choice of matte and shine finishes which I'm excited to try out!

I think my absolute favourite thing about these lipsticks is the gorgeous scent and I think that the scent in these new lipsticks is much stronger that the older ones - amazing! Each lipstick smells like chocolate and vanilla which makes them really luxurious and a real treat for your lips. I'm literally sitting here smelling the swatches on my hand like a weirdo because it's just so good!

I find that these lipsticks wear really well on the lips. As they are satin finishes, the staying power isn't overly strong but will definitely get you 2-3 hours of wear before you need to reapply. I reapply my lipstick all the time and because these are really moisturising like a lip balm, it's not something that bothers me. I can imagine the matte versions of these lipsticks will have a much better staying power, so if you're after something that will stay put longer then maybe give those a try!

I hope you have enjoyed today's post! I'm so over the moon with these new lipsticks and I can't wait to try out some more shades. If you've tried any of the new Mother Pucker lipsticks then let me know what shades you've been loving and I'll be sure to try them out!

Rimmel London Lipstick Collection

Rimmel London Lipstick Collection Belle-amie
12, 16, 101, 107, 206 Nude Pink & 058 Drop of Sherry
Rimmel London Lipstick Collection Swatches Belle-amie
Swatched in same order as above

Rimmel lipsticks are one of my personal favourite high street lipsticks. There are so many colours and finishes to choose from at such a good price. The packaging of these lipsticks is pretty standard, but the "By Kate" lipsticks do look a lot nicer. All the lipsticks I have tried by Rimmel have a nice, fruity smell to them which I really like. I only have 6 lipsticks by Rimmel (I also had Coral in Gold which was such a pretty colour, but I lost it!) but I am always on the look out for new shades to try!

Lasting Finish By Kate in 12 - This is a beautiful blood, red orange that I think is quite similar to Topshop's Infrared. The formula of these lipsticks are soft and creamy so don't dry out your lips. The colour is very bold and pigmented and I find this lipstick best for Summer days and nights out.

Lasting Finish By Kate in 16 - Again this lipstick has the same creamy formula. This is a nude and delicate pink that I think will suit most skin colours. I find this perfect for every day wear when paired with a pink lip gloss!

Lasting Finish By Kate in 101 - This lipstick is part of the latest collection out by Kate which have a matte finish. Again, this is a pretty pink shade that has been compared to MAC's Snob, which is great as an everyday lip colour. I always pair this with a lip gloss as the matte effect can be quite drying on my lips.

Lasting Finish By Kate in 107 - This has been one of my Winter staple lipsticks as recently I've been really loving red lipsticks! 107 is quite a deep pinky/ red which I think looks great on people with paler skin and brunette hair. Again, this has the matte effect finish so I usually wear lip balm before applying.

Lasting Finish in 206 Nude Pink - After seeing Charlotte from CosmeticsCharlotte72 or Just Another Beauty Blog raving about this lipstick last year, I had to try it out! This is a frosty nude pink shade which is perfect for any occasion. I actually wore this to Prom last year too, see the post HERE!

Lasting Finish in 058 Drop of Sherry - Finally another red lipstick. This is a mid-tone red with gold shimmer in it to give it a frosty finish. This is such an 'easy to wear' shade for me as it just darkens the colour of my lips and gives them a slight shimmer!

And that's my Rimmel lipstick collection! I'm not too sure what colours to pick up next, but if you have any recommendations then please let me know!

December Favourite's

December is one of my favourite months of the year. I love all the Christmas and New Year celebrations, spending time with family and justifying chocolate as breakfast. I can't believe how quick the last year has gone and now going into 2013, I want to show you what products I was loving in the final month of 2012.

Topshop Lip lipstick in Ohh La La - I'm slowly becoming a huge fan of Topshop's lipsticks and decided I wanted to add to my mini collection. "Ohh La La" is a pretty coral blush colour. I love these sort of colours and wore this paired with the lip gloss on Christmas (see the look HERE). The pigmentation of these lipsticks is great and the apply really well. You can see a full review of the Topshop lipsticks HERE.

Barry M Nail Paint in Rose Quartz Glitter - this is one of the prettiest nail polishes I have ever seen! It has small and large pieces of silver and pink glitter and looks beautiful as a top coat over a nude pink nail polish, especially Nails Inc's Elizabeth Street.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion - I got this in the Soap & Glory 'The Best Of All' gift set (which itself is well worth picking up if you see one) for Christmas and I have used this every evening before bed. The smell is lovely, with: almond, cocoa, yogurt, oats and honey, it's literally my favourite scent at the moment. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and the scent lingers on the skin for a good amount of time. I also like how it has a pump applicator so you don't end up wasting lots of product.

♥ Real Techniques Buffing Brush - I received the Real Techniques Core Collection brush set for Christmas which I was really excited about. The brushes are soft and are great for applying makeup. The one that stood out for my was the Buffing Brush and I think it's great to apply liquid foundation. It leaves my makeup smooth, streak free and almost gives my skin an 'air-brushed' affect. I'm so glad I finally got my hands on this brush set!

Barry M Lip Gloss in Coral 11 - I can't get enough of Barry M's lip glosses. I featured one in my last favourites post and now I have a new one I've fallen in love with! This gloss is a coral colour with no shimmer and I think it goes perfectly with the Oh La La lipstick. The smell is, as always, amazing as it smells like the fruit salad sweets!

Review | Topshop Lips Lipstick

"Velvet finish lipstick to smooth, moisturise and nourish lips. Apply for fabulous colour and moisturised, matte finish, wear alone or with gloss for a shiny finish." Topshop

Topshop lipsticks are usually talked about as being as good as MAC or any other high end lipstick, just with a cheaper price tag of £8-£10. For a while, I wasn't too fussed about picking these lipsticks up. I had tried other shop's makeup like Miss Selfridge before, and to be honest, it wasn't that good. In fact, it was shockingly bad! But after seeing so many good reviews on these lipsticks, I decided to pick up a couple.

The two shades I have are: Infrared (a bold, red orange) and Confession (a bright, hot pink). Both of the lipstick's formula are very good. They are both very pigmented, so when you apply them you don't have to press really hard or keep swiping it across your lip. I'm so glad that Topshop's makeup is this pigmented, you can get other lipsticks from actual makeup brands for the same price that are just terrible! They are also both really moisturising and smooth to apply, but I always like to wear lip balm underneath to keep the colour even. The lipsticks also have a kind of strong fruity smell, which I'm not sure if I'm that keen on but I'm sure others will enjoy. However, the smell does fade after applying the product, so it doesn't bother me that much. As for staying power, these lipsticks are quite good and will usually last around 3 hours before I need to reapply.

The packaging of the lipsticks (and the whole makeup line in general) is probably one of the nicest makeup packaging! I love the drawn on design and it definitely stands out from other brands. However, I do think the light cream/ white colour they chose wasn't the best idea as it can get pretty grubby after a while of sitting in your makeup bag.

What are your thoughts on Topshop's lipsticks?

Giveaway Prizes From Jetley Mess | Possible 200 Follower Giveaway?

Swatch: Straight from applicator | Blended into skin
I recently won Jetley Mess's Lush giveaway where I could choose any products from the Lush Emotional Brilliance range! I chose a lipstick in the colour Strong which is a bold, blood orange colour. I've never actually bought anything from Lush before (crazy right?) so I was really excited to give this a try! I love the colour, it applies really well and you only need a little bit so the bottle will last a really long time!

Please go check out Jade's blog, it's lovely and she writes great posts!

Also, as I am nearing another milestone, I am thinking about doing a 200 follower UK giveaway
As of now, I'm not sure what the prizes will be, but will definitely be beauty related!

Review | Makeup Academy (M.U.A) Lipsticks

Makeup Academy or M.U.A are well known for their amazing makeup products that retail for just £1! They also sell a pro range which means their prices are between £1 and £4. M.U.A's lipticks fall into this £1 section which means it's a great chance to try out a load of lipsticks for the price that one high end lipstick would cost! The Superdrugs in my town aren't large stores, so I can only find M.U.A's £1 line, which to be honest are never fully stocked so there's only a limited amount of products I have easy access to!
Left to right: Shade 3 | Shade 4 | Shade 7 | Shade 8 | Shade 12
As you can see I have 5 of the M.U.A lipsticks, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 12. In my local Superdrug they only stock up to Shade 12, but I've read online that there's up to 16 shades available.
The packaging is quite cheap, but I wouldn't expect anything fancy because they are only £1. They're made of plastic which is prone to breaking but it does mean they are easy to clean. M.U.A also have the little pot at the bottom of the tube which is a bit like the NYX lipsticks where you can use the lipstick in the bottom for touch-ups. I don't think these were designed for this purpose (maybe just to help show you the colour without taking the lid off?) as some of mine are hard to remove, but it is a nifty extra which helps make this lipstick amazing.

Swatches
Left to right: Shade 3 | Shade 4 | Shade 7 | Shade 8 | Shade 12

Swatches on the lip
 Bare lips

Shade 3
Shade 3 is a very bold hot pink colour. As you can see from the swatch it's very pigmented and a little goes a long way. I think this colour is great for a really sunny day or a night out. It has a creamy and soft consistency which means it applies really well and moisturises the lips whilst it is on.

Shade 4
Shade 4 is a sheer baby pink colour. At the time of buying this there wasn't a tester so I was hoping that the colour in the tube was what would come out on the lips, but I was wrong. However this is a very pretty and natural lipstick that tints your lips a pretty, shiny pink. As you can see the lipstick has actually broke, numerous times so it's quite difficult to apply. I need to repurchase this lipstick as it puts me off wearing it.

Shade 7
Shade 7 is a neutral coral/ pink colour. I bought this colour for when I was doing work experience last year so is a great colour for work or college.  Again this has a creamy formula and is well pigmented.

Shade 8
Shade 8 is a glittery red/ pink colour. In this tube it's much darker than what it applies to the lips and is a little sheer (not like Shade 4) so it gives more of a pink tone than red. This is my newest M.U.A lipstick and as I don't own many reddy pinks this is one of my new favourites! As it's quite bright it's great for spring but I also think it can be worn all year round!

Shade 12
Shade 12 is a glittery pink colour. It's great for everyday wear and can definitely be used for a night time look. It's sheerer than it looks in the tube and I think this is the case for M.U.A's glittery lipsticks, seeing as Shade 8 is also sheerer. Also, even though there is glitter in the lipstick it is still very smooth and easy to apply.

M.U.A's lipsticks are incredible for the price they are! They offer sheer and pigmented colours with a good selection of reds, pinks, corals and nudes to choose from. I think that if you're starting out in makeup these are the lipsticks to start with! They're cheap and accessable at most Superdrug stores or online or through M.U.A's webiste. Even if you do have lots of makeup, these are also great products just to collect so that you have more variety of lip colours in your collection.

My Top 6 | Lipsticks

I never used to be one who wore lipstick on a regular basis, only if I was going out somewhere where I had to dress up more. Now I wear it every time I do my makeup and is something that completes a makeup look. I prefer coral/ orange and pink lipsticks. I find reds are too bold for me and I don't feel comfortable in them. I rarely wear nudes as well as I would rather just wear some lip gloss or lip balm.

Swatched in the same order as above

(Left to right)
Natural Collection Sheer Natural in Sand Castle: this is probably the closest I would get to a nude shade. I like this as it gives a shiny finish to the lips due to the small amount of silver shimmer. It's great for everyday wear and easy to apply as it is a very natural pink shade.

Natural Collection Moisture Shine in Rose Bud: this is a really nice rose pink shade and can be built up to a stronger colour. It's very moisturising and doesn't dry out the lips. It has a slight golden shimmer to it as well.

Barry M in Pink Ribbon 153: a much brighter pink than the last two with a shiny finish. I love the colour of this and goes with my skin tone well. I wore this to a wedding and it stayed put throughout most the day too.

Topshop Lipstick in Confession: this is my most recent lipstick purchase and I found it at a Topshop store for only £4! It's a vibrant/ neon pink, which when I first saw it in the shop I thought it was an orange toned lipstick because of the little sticker, so when I got home and looked at the actual product I was a little disappointed. However, when I applied it it was such a gorgeous pink colour and lasted on my lips for a long time. It also has quite a fresh/ fruity smell to it which I like. This is my first Topshop lipstick and I am impressed!

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in 12: this is a lovely coral colour that is probably more on the red side in the tube but more orange when applied on the lips. These lipsticks are really pigmented and apply really well.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti 015: one of my favourite lips products ever. I love the look of bright orange lips and in a lip butter form it's much more wearable on a day-to-day basis. This is definitely my favourite in the colour range.

I would also like to add a massive thank you to my 20 lovely followers and everyone who reads my posts! I never thought even 1 person would take the time out of their day to read my blog :) I am very grateful!! Thank you!

What's your favourite lipstick? I'm always on the hunt for more!
