Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr Cream Eye Shadow | £4.99 each

Hello everyone! So today I'm going to be reviewing yet another product from Maybelline, but this time it's one of which I'm completely obsessed with! These are the infamous Maybelline Color Tattoos and the shades that I have are: "On and on Bronze" and "Metallic Pomegranate". I've been using these cream eye shadows pretty much every single time I've done my makeup over the past few weeks and I have to say, I'm addicted!
If you want to know the ins and outs of why I love these little beauties, then do keep on reading.

So like I said, the two shades that I own are "On and On Bronze" and "Metallic Pomegranate". On and On Bronze is a gorgeous bronze shade with a golden shimmer running through it. This is the shade I use the most as it's a perfect everyday eye shadow that can work with a whole range of other colours. Metallic Pomegranate is a deep bronze toned berry shade which also has golden shimmer in it. This shade is absolutely perfect for this time of year and to me, it looks like Christmas in a pot! I like to use this shade more for night time looks or if I want a darker eye look. Each of these shades are so versatile as they can either be worn as eye shadow bases, as a lid colour or just on their own for a quick and easy eye look!

As you can see from the swatches in the photo above, their pigmentation is amazing and well worth the £4.99 price tag! These cream eye shadows apply beautifully to the eye lid, are smooth, soft and so easy to work with as you can simply use your finger to blend them out. They also have amazing staying power and I completely agree that they are 24 hour wear. They also make any other shadows you put over the top stay put all day, so if you don't use a primer, they're the perfect product to use as an eye shadow base.

The packaging of these little pots is really nice and I love that they made them in glass so they have a good amount of weight to them. This makes them look and feel like a high end product and I've heard they're very similar to the MAC paint pots. They have a simple black screw on lid that's very secure and will help stop them from drying out quickly.

So overall, as you may have already guessed, I'm completely in love with the Maybelline Color Tattoos! I think the two shades that I have are so easy to work with and compliment my eyes and skin tone really well. These are a definite staple in my makeup bag!

What are your thoughts on the Maybelline Color Tattoos?
What other shades would you recommend me to try out?

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well! First of all, I'm so sorry for the lack of posting recently. After starting college and my new job, my blog has seemed to have taken a back seat - I've just been too busy to sit down and write! I have really missed it though, so I'm going to spend the afternoon of my day off catching up on writing some posts so that I can finally get into the swing of blogging again.

Today's post is going to be a review of the ever so famous Maybelline Baby Lips and in this case it's the shade "Pink Punch". I was so sucked into all the hype around these little lip balms that when I spotted a 3 for 2 deal on all Maybelline products, I thought I may as well give one a go - especially as it worked out it was free! I was so excited to give the Baby Lips a try, but unfortunately I'm think I'm one of the 1% of bloggers who is really unimpressed with this product!

The Maybelline Baby Lips are a range of lip balms each with different properties such as: hydration, colour tint and SPF. "Pink Punch" is a light pink tinted lip balm which has a slight moisturising effect. It's a pretty standard product that is there to give your lips a bit of a pick-me-up for when you need a hint of colour and hydration. However, I find that the colour of "Pink Punch" applies so unevenly that it actually takes a good while to apply properly - not something you'd want if you a quick and easy product! I do like the colour of "Pink Punch" and it does look pretty on the lips, but I don't like the fact it takes a while to make sure it looks even, especially as it's only a lip balm!

I also find the moisturising effect doesn't last for more than an hour, so you would have to keep applying the products if you wanted the feeling of soft lips to last. I guess this isn't too bad, but other normal lip balms I've tried (Blistex for example) actually leave my lips feeling soft and hydrated for a good few hours - and they're cheaper than the Baby Lips! This means that I very rarely reach for my Baby Lips and would much prefer to use a normal lip balm instead (at least they won't leave my lips looking uneven!). The only thing I quite like about "Pink Punch" is the fruity smell. Normally artificial smells like this give me a headache, but I actually quite like the scent of this!

As for the packaging, I like the fun bright colours and I can see why the Baby Lips were such a staple in many people's makeup bags this summer. It does feel a bit cheap but then again, this product is only £2.99 and is probably one of Maybelline's cheapest products they do!

So overall, I'm really unimpressed with the Maybelline Baby Lips. After reading so many rave reviews, I thought that it was going to be the nicest lip balm I've tried, but it's really not. I think if you're just getting into makeup or if you want to wear a lip colour to school, these would be nice to pop in your bag, but for me I'd much prefer to use any other lip product in my collection!

What are your thoughts on the Maybelline Baby Lips?

Each polish after 1 coat
Hello lovelies! I cannot believe how quick Summer has gone (in fact, 2013 is going way too fast!) and that I'm now thinking of Autumn and Winter kind of posts. If you read my blog, you may remember that I did a Spring and Summer nail polish post where I talked about my top 5 polishes of those seasons. I thought it would be good to keep these kinds of posts going and chat to you all about what nail polishes I'm going to be loving for the cooler months! I had a good rummage through my box of polishes and found a few that I'm really excited to start wearing again this Autumn/ Winter. I probably could have included another 5 berry shades and another 10 glitter polishes, but I narrowed it down to my top 5!

Butter London Nail Lacquer in "Shambolic"
I found this nail polish on sale last year and I instantly fell in love with it. It's a gorgeous deep golden purple glitter polish that works really well over other purple toned polishes. It has different sized bits of glitter in and can be built up to an opaque finish in a couple of coats. This is the type of polish I like to wear on my ring finger nails as an accent polish, but it can easily be worn on all the nails for a glitzy look!

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in "Plum" | Review | LINK
I love deep, rich shades for the Autumn time and I think Barry M's Plum is going to be my go to purple shade this year! The thick and creamy consistency of this polish means it looks great in just 1 coat plus with the glossy finish, there's no need for a top coat. I think this will be a great partner for Butter London's Shambolic.

Barry M Nail Paint in "Amethyst Glitter" | LINK
This polish is probably one of my all time favourites as it contains a range of gorgeously coloured glitters! Everything from pink to navy to gold, it's a glitter top coat that can work with a range of coloured nail polishes. Glitter polishes in the Autumn/ Winter time are a staple for me, especially around Christmas time! I think this polish will look it's best with a deep, navy shade.

Barry M Nail Paint in "Raspberry" | LINK
Yet another Barry M nail polish. I just think their colour and glitter ranges are amazing for this time of year and I'm really looking forward to their new collections for Autumn! Barry M's Raspberry is quite a popular nail polish, especially for the Autumn time as it's a gorgeous berry toned raspberry polish that looks stunning on the nails. I've been really looking forward to using this polish again and I've definitely missed using it through the Summer!

Nails Inc Nail Lacquer in "Chelsea Manor Street"* | Review
My final top nail polish for Autumn/ Winter is probably my favourite out of the bunch - Nails Inc's Chelsea Manor Street. Metallics are a really popular shade for this time of year and I think the gunmetal colour of this polish is gorgeous! Also, it has tiny specks of glitter in which makes this polish look amazing on the nails. It has a creamy and opaque formula and is one of my favourite nail polishes to use.

So these are my top 5 nail polishes for the Autumn/ Winter time! I really can't wait to start painting my nails with all different deep toned and glitter polishes, it makes a good change from wearing bright colours all the time. I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to hear what your favourite polishes are for the Autumn/ Winter time!
