Coconut oil is well known for being an amazing multi-purpose product that can be used for a huge range of things, from hair, beauty and even cooking. As coconut oil is lightweight yet still really nourishing, it's a perfect addition to anyone's hair or body care routine. I recently picked up a tub of the Superdrug Coconut Oil, which is
specifically designed for your hair and skin, as it was half price and I
wanted to see how well it actually works! I've been testing it out for a few weeks and I thought I would share my thoughts on this super affordable wonder product.
This coconut oil comes in a solid form that starts to melt as it comes into contact with your skin. What's great about this product is that you only need a tiny amount and a little really does go a long way! Even though the tub that I bought was the smaller of the 2 available from Superdrug, I can see that this will last me a very long time due to how little you need to use.
So the first way that I tried out the Superdrug coconut oil was by using it as a hair and scalp mask. All you have to do is simply massage the oil into your dry scalp and the lengths of your hair and leave it in for a few hours (or overnight if your hair is very dry!). After washing the oil out my hair is left feeling really soft and nourished and because it's lightweight it doesn't leave any oily residue in my hair. I would personally use the oil like this once every couple weeks as my hair is very fine, but someone with thicker or longer hair could definitely use it more! This oil is also great to use on wet hair after washing it to use as a leave in conditioner. I find this really helps smooth down my hair and leaves it feeling really soft.
I've also found that this coconut oil is really great for your skin as it melts straight into your skin as you massage it in. As it's really nourishing the oil is lovely to use on drier areas like your elbows, knees, hands and especially your feet - just pop some cosy socks on overnight and you have super soft feet in the morning! Again because it's a lightweight oil it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy just really soft and supple!
This is a really great product and I love how affordable it is, especially as it's currently half price in Superdrug. I'd highly recommend this coconut oil so if you haven't tried it already definitely pick it up on your next Superdrug trip!

Fab post hun, I’ve wanted to use coconut oil for the longest time, and this sounds great. I agree such an affordable way of trying coconut oil and will be on the lookout next time I’m in Superdrug because who can resist when it’s half price ;)

I appreciate your opinions and thoughts, but I'd like to say that this product categorically does not compare with proper 100% pure organic coconut oil. I got some from Superdrug and got buy one get one free. I had to throw both of them away after trying every which way to make them work. I'm glad they worked for you, but for someone who purchased them to treat dry hair and skin, I feel as though they did nothing for me. I'm not an organic enthusiast. I don't go out of my way to get organic versions of things. But in this instance, it's a must, because whatever Superdrug are doing to make this product cheaper is also making is less effective. To the point of unrecognition. If you like this product then you're going to love the real deal x
ReplyDeleteI swear by this stuff for my hair! It's so cheap but is better than any hair mask :)
