Review | Max Factor Xperience Weightless Foundation

Blended slightly with fingers

I've mentioned this product as my everyday foundation on my blog quite a few times. I've been through so many foundations in the past few years, but it's always Max Factor ones I can rely on. I've been using this foundation for over a year and it's definitely something I could not live without!
I use the shade Raw Silk 45, which is the second lightest shade of the six.

The packaging is very simple, black and green which I really like and it makes it seem more expensive than it is. For £9.99, you get 30ml of product, which is a standard amount for any foundation. I like how you have to squeeze the product out because you can use as much or a little as you want. This way, I think you waste less product as you do with a pump dispenser as it won't stick to the sides or clog up in the bottle.

"Luxurious flawless coverage with a weightless feel. Suitable for sensitive skin. Won't clog pores. Oil free."

The description on the back totally sold this foundation to me, and I'm happy to say it lives up to it's promises! I have very sensitive skin and I haven't broken out or had any skin issues from using this foundation. As it's oil free and weightless, it also hasn't given me any spots or blemishes. I would say this foundation is a light to medium coverage with one layer, but can be built up to a more fuller coverage with two layers. I usually have two layers of this foundation on and it doesn't feel heavy or caky at all. The consistency of the foundation is liquid, it isn't too runny and doesn't feel wet on the skin. The finish is quite dewy, so is great for people who have drier skin, but can be mattified with powder for those with oilier skin. The staying power is also really good. I never have to reapply through the day and doesn't turn patchy/ cling to dry skin. It also has SPF 10 which is great for all year round to protect your skin from the sun's rays.

What's your everyday foundation?

  8. This looks really good, and its good that you can rely on it, especially after having used it for a year! My everyday foundation is the nars sheer glow or I use MAC tinted moisturizer with Chanel powder on top for something lighter :) x

  9. Wow I wonder if they have this is any darker shades. It's such a nightmare for me to find high street foundations for darker skin. Its annoying because something like this seems like a complete bargain!

Great blog btw! I just stumbled across it and am now following xxx

  11. Wow, I'm actually really surprised to hear you say that this matches your skin nicely!! It looks really orange on your hand after you rubbed it in but maybe that's just the photo's fault? Either way, it sounds like a nice foundation but I'll never be able to stray from my Estee Lauder Double Wear Light!! :)

    1. It's probably my fault of relying on natural light in the Winter! It makes taking photos a lot harder. Sorry that it didn't show true to colour :) I would have done a before and after of it on my face, but not too sure I can brave a bare face just yet :) xx

  13. I barely ever see foundation reviews. I think people tend to overlook them, me included because they aren't as interesting to talk about like pretty eye shadows and lip colours etc haha...although its the main product we all use!

Great review, I might try this out next time I'm shopping :)

    1. They're definitely not as interesting or pretty looking as a lipstick review, but I think they're really useful because most people want to find a really good foundation :) xx

  19. I've actually never even seen this foundation, but it sounds really nice - Ilove a dewy finish, and it's so important in a product that it doesn't clog pores!
My day to day foundation has been Revlon Photoready for the past few months, which I really like, but my skin is good at the moment, so I've also been using the Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid. My favourite foundation that I've ever tried is the Clinique Even Better, though.
