Tag | What Beauty Product?

The What Beauty Products Tag Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Photo from weheartit.com and edited by myself.
Hello lovelies! Recently I've been struck by the dreaded "blogger's block" and for the life of me I couldn't seem to get a post together. After last night's #fblchat on Twitter (my username is @beautybelleamie if you didn't know!) I was on a mission to get my blogging mojo back and find a post that I would be able to write. After looking around I thought that a tag would be my best bet to get me back into the writing spirit - but I thought I would go 1 step further. Yes ladies and gentlemen I decided to actually come up with my own tag, include some random questions that I thought up and post it here on my blog. I love tag posts where you get to know what sort of products are a blogger's favourite and what ones they will turn to in a certain situation, so I based my questions off of that.

In the end I came up with the idea of a "What Beauty Product?" tag where you are put into a certain situation and asked what beauty product you would use. It's pretty simple but it's the kind of tag post that I find really fun to read and hopefully you all will too!

1. You’re about to head out for a night out with the girls. What lipstick and lip gloss combo do you put on to make yourself feel gorgeous?
At the moment I'm really into wearing red lipsticks - the brighter the better as well! When ever I've been going out recently, I've been wearing ELF's Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red which is a perfect pillar box red shade with a matte finish. As it's matte I find that it will last me pretty much all night as it really does stay put on the lips. Instead of a lip gloss, I usually pop a bit of The Body Shop's Born Lippy in Strawberry over the top as it has a slight red tint and gives it a glossy finish.

2. You’re running late for school/ work and need to leave the house in 5 minutes! Which 3 essential makeup products do you apply for a naturally beautiful look?
Usually I would give myself plenty of time to get ready in the morning to avoid situations like this so for me, this would be a nightmare haha! I would definitely pop on my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes just to even out my skin tone. Then I would apply some of my Stila Angel Light face powder to give my skin a shine-free finish. Finally I would have to put on some of my Soap & Glory Thick & Fast mascara as my eyes look so bare without anything on!

3. You’re packing for a week away on holiday. What “all in one” eye shadow palette do you bring with you?
I'm going to have to be really boring and say my Urban Decay Original Naked palette! I absolutely adore this palette as it contains a variety of shades that would have me set all week whether I wanted to create a day or night time look.

4. You’re heading to the beach on a Summer’s day and will be wearing your favourite bikini. What nail polish shade do you wear on your fingers and toes to complete the look?
In the Summer I love wearing bright nail polishes! I would probably go for a bright hot pink on my toes as that's what I usually paint them at that time of year. As for my fingers, I would go for a bright mint shade like Nails Inc's Royal Botanical Gardens.

5. You’re getting ready for a date night to a new restaurant in town. Which perfume do you pick out from your collection to impress him?
I would go for my most sophisticated yet girly scent in my collection and that would probably be Dolce & Gabbana's The One. I really do love this scent and I think it's perfect for a date night!

6. You’re spending the weekend away and you only want to pack your beauty basics. What 3 brushes/ tools do you bring to do your makeup?
I would definitely take my Real Techniques Buffing Brush as this is what I use everyday to apply my foundation. I would also take my powder brush (which could double up as a blusher brush) which is The Body Shop Face & Body brush. This brush is so lovely, it's super soft and applies pressed or loose powder perfectly! The final beauty tool I would take with me are my eye lash curlers as I think they make such a big improvement to my lashes when I use them.

7. You’ve just woken up to crazy bed hair and have no time to wash it. What hair products do you use to tame your unruly locks?
Unfortunately, I wake up with this problem on a very regular basis haha! I would apply a small amount of Wella's SP Luxe hair oil to the ends of my hair to smooth out any frizziness and to help nourish it. I would then spray a bit of V05's Plump It Up dry shampoo to refresh my hair (trust me, it smells gorgeous!) and give it a bit of lift at the roots.

8. Your friend wants to expand her makeup collection and asks for your help. What high street product and what high end product do you recommend her to try?
The one high street makeup product I would recommend to anyone are the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons. I think adding a variety of lip colours into your collection is really important and I love the selection that Bourjois do. Plus the formula of their lip crayons is amazing and work out great value for money! As for the high end product, I would have to say any of the Urban Decay Naked palettes! I have the Original, Basics and Naked 3 and I adore them all so I would recommend her to pick out one of them.

So that's the What Beauty Product? tag. I really hope you enjoyed this tag and that you will go and answer these questions on your blog - I would love to see how all of you would respond to them! I tag every one who reads this post as it's really fun to answer.

I tag everyone to do the What Beauty Product? tag!
Please let me know in the comments if you do this tag and leave the link below!

Get To Know Me | Beauty Blogger Tag

Get To Know Me Beauty Blogger Tag Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hey everyone, I hope you're all had a lovely week! Sorry for the lack of posting recently, it's been so hard to find a spare minute to take some photos and actually write! I thought that for today, I would a do a "get to know me" tag post as they're really fun to do and I for one find them interesting to read. It's always nice to know more about the person behind the blog! I haven't seen loads of people do this tag but if you're up for putting this on your blog as well, I'd love to read your answers!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is very curly, but because it's quite long it does weigh itself down quite a bit so they're quite loose curls. When I had my hair cut really short back when I was about 14, it was so curly that I would have little ringlets! I'm really tempted to have my hair cut quite short again as it gave my hair so much texture and it was a lot easier to work with. What do you guys think, should I stay with long hair or go short?

2. Do you dye your hair yourself or go to a salon?
I've never actually dyed my hair before, I've only ever ombred it and that was using the L'Oreal Wild Ombres home kit. It was really easy to use and did make my hair go a lot lighter, so I would completely recommend it! My hair is way too dark to dye with home kits anyway so I've never seen the point of doing it. I'm really tempted to get some kind of highlights put through my hair though (especially if I get it cut short) so that I can keep it quite tonal because my natural hair colour is rather boring!

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
I try to change up my hair everyday, especially as I have to have it up for college. My normal hair styles are just down and wavy with a few sections clipped back, a messy bun, a messy pony tail or a fishtail braid - nothing too adventurous!

4. Do you do your own manicures and pedicures or do you go to a salon?
Even thought I'm a beauty student I have never had my nails done in a salon, which I think is quite strange! I just like doing my own nails as I'm not that bad at painting them, plus it's a lot cheaper. I am tempted to have gel nails done in a festive pattern for Christmas though!

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
I don't wear nail polish everyday of the week because I'm not allowed to wear it at college, so I would say I change it once or twice a week, depending if I'm in the mood to paint!

6. Do you paint your toes in the Winter or just in the Summer?
I was actually thinking about this yesterday because I haven't painted my toes in ages! I love wearing red nail polish on my toes in the Winter, makes me feel all Christmasy. I always have my toes painted in the Summer thought because you tend to have your feet more exposed then, unless you like to wear sandals in the Winter...

7. Do you plan your outfit of the day the night before or just decide when getting dressed?
I only ever plan my outfits if I'm going somewhere nice the next day, I've never seen why people would spend their night planning what they're going to wear the next day! I usually go with whatever I'm feeling or if I've bought a new top then I will just wear that.

8. How often do you change of your handbag?
I usually match up my handbag with whatever I'm wearing, so that's how often I would change it! When I go to college I usually just take the same bag because I know everything I need fits into it. I'm currently using my Cath Kidston Day Bag which is in a deep blue colour with a peachy pink floral pattern on - it's so pretty!

9. How long does it take you to put on your makeup?
If I'm in a rush in the morning and want to do a simple look, then it might only take me 15 minutes to do my makeup. If I have time to do it properly, say on a night out, it can take me about 30 to 45 minutes!

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
I always do my face makeup first! I know you're meant to do eyes first so that you can tidy away any fall out from your eye shadows, but I can't get into the habit of doing that! I always do: face, eyebrows, eyes, cheeks and then my lips.

11. Do you collect makeup or do you just buy what you need when you need it?
I wouldn't say I actually collect makeup (even though I call it my makeup collection!) because I usually just buy the makeup that I want. I feel that if you actually collect makeup, you can just buy for the sake of buying which is something I very rarely do! Of course I also buy my makeup that I need, like foundation or concealer, when I need it as well.

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Not very often if I'm honest! I have such sensitive eyes that I find them far too heavy and uncomfortable to wear! I'd rather just wear more mascara than usual if I want to go for fuller looking lashes. If I could find some lashes that were comfortable and actually stayed glues to my eyes, then I would probably wear them more on nights out!

13. Do you wear a full face of makeup everyday?
Nope! If I'm not going our for the day and I'm just at home, then I'll wear pretty much no makeup. If I'm having a really bad skin day (or week, like I'm having right now!) and I need to pop to the shops, then I'll just wear a little bit of foundation just to make me feel better!

14. Will you leave the house without makeup?
If I'm having a good skin day then I'm more than happy to leave the house with no makeup on. If I'm planning on going out, then I'll usually pop a little bit of makeup on just to give me a confidence boost!

15. How many high end products do you own?
I really do not know the answer to this! Quite a few to be honest because ever since I started blogging I have really gotten into using more high end products. I don't own anything too fancy like Estee Lauder or Chanel, just higher end brands like Urban Decay and Benefit!

16. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
Ahh, my sleeping pattern is all over the place at the moment! Some nights I can go to bed at like 10 and others it won't be until about 1 or 2 in the morning. I do find it quite hard actually getting tired sometimes which is really annoying because it leaves me exhausted the next day! I'm also getting up really early at the moment and can't seem to sleep past 9 - so annoying when I have a day off!

17. How many pets do you have?
If you've read any past tag posts then you might know that I live on a farm! I have a dog and cat plus some chickens and geese, so I have quite a lot of pets haha! I did also have some ducks, turkeys and a few quails which were really cute - they were like chubby sparrows!

18. How often are you on Blogger?
Even though I only post a couple times a week (if that!), I do read my Blogger dashboard pretty much everyday! I like using it to keep up to date with blogs because it's really simple to use. I also schedule a lot of my blog posts, so I do tend to work on certain posts over a few days.

19. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
If this means comments on other people's posts, then yes I do tend do read a few of the comments just to see what other people are saying about the post's topic. If this means my own comments on my posts, then yes! I read every single comment and I do reply to all of your questions - so always check back if you ask me one!

20. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I get asked this question fair amount, so for anyone who doesn't know, I use the Nikon Coolpix L310 Bridge Camera! It's a really good camera with simple settings yet takes lovely photos! It's quite cheap as well considering how well it works.

I hope you enjoyed this tag! I did shorten it down a little bit as other posts I have seen have around 30 questions to answer, so I picked my favourite 20 out of them! Please do let me know if you do this tag as well - I tag all of you who read this post to answer these questions! If you do answer them then do leave the link in the comments below and I will come a have a nosey at your answers.

I hope you all have a lovely day and I'll speak to you in my next post!

Tag | Would You Rather? Beauty Edition

Tag Would You Rather Beauty Edition Belle-amie
Photo from weheartit.com and edited by me
Hello everyone, I hope you're all well and had a lovely day! Today I'm going to do the"Would you rather? Beauty edition" tag which I have seen on quite a few blogs and have really enjoyed reading. I like doing these kinds of posts as I think it's nice to know more about the person behind the blog, plus they're lots of fun to write! I tag you all to do this post and if you do it, please leave the link in the comments; I love reading them! Anyway, on with the post..

1. Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eye liners, lipsticks and lip glosses or all your palettes and eye shadows?
I would much rather lose all of my palettes and eye shadows and keep the rest of my makeup! I actually like the look of just eye liner on my lash line and lots of mascara, it's simple yet can make your eyes look more defined. Also, I don't think I could live without my lipstick collection, especially my bright oranges and pinks! I'm a little be addicted to lip products at the moment haha!

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
My first reaction was never have my hair cut again because I hated having short hair, but mine is so weak and damaged that I think it would be ruined if I never cut it again! I think I would go through the pain of having very short hair for a year or so just so I wouldn't have to live with a ridiculous amount of split-ends for the rest of my life haha! Plus I could always use hair extensions to make it longer if it bothered me that much.

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I much prefer coral toned blushers as I think they suit my skin colour better. I have quite a pink undertone to my skin, so some pink blushers just make me look like I have a rash on my cheeks!

4. If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Despite being a beauty addict, I think I would rather buy clothes! I always feel that I have nothing to wear so it would be nice to add some new pieces to my wardrobe. Plus I have so much makeup that adding another £1000 worth would just be silly haha!

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eye liner, or eye liner as lipstick?
I think eye liner as lipstick would be much easier, just like applying lip liner? Plus you can get all different coloured eye liners so I'm sure you could find some shades that would work! I can just imagine someone applying lipstick straight on to their eyes haha, that would be too messy to bother with!

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
I've only ever bought something from Sephora and because they have a huge selection of brands, I would have to say Sephora! I don't think I could stick to one brand, especially one as expensive as MAC!

7. Would you rather only use one eye shadow or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I would definitely choose one eye shadow shade to wear for the rest of my life. It would probably be a shimmery neutral shade so it would work for day or night time! I would much prefer to have different lip colours as I like wearing bold lips with a neutral eye anyway. Plus only having a bright colour for Winter really wouldn't work, I love wearing my vampy reds for the colder months!

8. Would you rather wear Winter clothes in the Summer, or Summer clothes in the Winter?
I really wouldn't want to do either, they both sound awful! I guess that because Summer in England isn't always that hot and that I do get cold quite easily, I'd have to say Winter clothes in the Summer. Flip-flops in the snow would just be terrible!

9. Would you rather wear dark nails or bright nails all year round?
I think I'd rather wear bright colours because I think they suit my nails a lot nicer. Also a lot of dark shades make my hands look so pale and having that during the Summer wouldn't be nice!

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
To be honest, I wouldn't be fussed to give up either. I have so many variations of the same colour that I would have a back up anyway haha! I think I'd give up my favourite eye product because I tend to swap up my eye shadows more than my lipsticks.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
Definitely a messy bun! Because my hair's naturally curly, they're so much easier to do than creating a nice, sleek pony tail.

12. Would you rather never being able to paint yours nails again or never use lip gloss?
This is quite an easy one for me and I would rather not use a lip gloss again! I much prefer wearing a lipstick anyway, plus I love painting my nails! I find most lip glosses quite a pain to wear as they can be too sticky or I just don't like the finish; I much prefer a satin finish lipstick to a glossy lip.

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? Or Sharpie them in everyday?
Oh dear, I really hate the look of drawn on eyebrows haha! But then again, having no eyebrows is even worse! I guess I would have to Sharpie them in everyday.. and never leave the house again haha!

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Even though I love painting my nails, I could definitely live without it. If I'm not wearing makeup, I don't feel "ready" and it makes me not want to do anything during the day! As sad as it sounds, I don't think I could live without wearing makeup, it gives me such a confidence boost and makes me feel so much better about my self that I kind of "need" it in my life. That can sound a bit shallow and obviously if I was actually being made to give makeup up, I could!

I hope you enjoyed the post and I really hope you do this tag as well! Remember, if you have please leave the link in the comments so I can come and have a read.

Tag | Confessions Of A Blogger

Confessions Of A Blogger Tag Belle-amie
Photo from weheartit.com and edited by me

I was tagged by the lovely Aly from Wonderland Beauty to do the Confessions Of A Blogger tag! I think tags are a great way to see the person behind the blog at a more personal level and get to know them a little better!

When did you start your blog?
I started my blog on 11th June 2012. It was a spur of the moment thing after I had come home from a Psychology exam, but I had actually wanted to make one for quite a while! Just never plucked up the courage until then!

Have you had any other past online presence before (Other blog, YouTube)?
Nope, I've never done anything like this before! I loved reading and watching beauty bloggers so I thought I would just give it a go.

Why did you start your blog?
I loved reading other people's blogs and knew I wanted to create my own space on the Internet. I've always been an arty person and enjoyed creative writing, so thought this would be a great place for me to share my interests! I made my blog at the same time I decided to study Beauty therapy and thought it would be a great to put on my CV to show my love for beauty and makeup! Very quickly, I fell in love with writing all different kinds of posts, from reviews to favourites, so now this blog is my hobby! It's something I love doing and was one of the best decisions I've made.

When did you become serious about your blog?
To begin with, I had no idea whether I would stick with writing a blog and if it would be for me, so it wasn't serious at all. After a month or so, I realised my blog was going somewhere. I began to really enjoy updating it and other people seemed to like my posts! I wouldn't call myself a "hard-core" blogger, but someone who spends their free time working on my little creative outlet. I would say within the last few months I have become a lot more serious with my blog and I enjoy it this way!

What was your first post?
Oh no haha! My first post was an introduction about me, but my first proper blog post was my Barry M Nail Paint Collection. I used my iPod as the camera so the pictures are terrible quality! Luckily it's not too embarrassing, but I am thinking of remaking that post!

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
I wouldn't say I've come across many challenges with writing my blog, I usually just go at my own pace and try not to get too stressed about it. Sometimes I have huge blogging blocks and have no idea what to post about, but that gives me the chance to take a mini break and think it over, I would never like to force myself to write!

Where do you see your blog in one year?
Well, one thing's for sure is that I will still be here! I love my blog and don't see myself giving it up anytime soon. To be honest though, I have no idea! I haven't even been blogging for a year and I'm already very overwhemed with how it's turned out! If it's anything like this year, bring it on!

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
I would definitely have to say the amazing community and the support everyone gives you! Anything from a lovely comment to knowing that there are people out there you can easily talk to and ask for help if you needed it!

What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
I've never had anything too discouraging happen to me, I've had quite a positive experience so far. The only thing I'm quite guilty of is comparing my blog to others and then feeling down that mine isn't very good! It's not a case of jealousy, just "ahh why didn't I think of that" or "her font's better than mine", very silly things. I know everyone's blog is personal and different, so I shouldn't feel down about it! But I guess it's a natural feeling and to be honest, it's not very often at all that I feel this! I am happy with my blog!

What's your lasting inspiration or motivation?
Every blog and every blogger I've seen! All of them inspire me in someway to help me develop as a blogger. Just seeing a good post or reading about someone's experience can inspire you to keep going. This is why I think the blogging community is such a wonderful place! On a more personal level, my main motivation is bloggers who are strong people and will carry on with their life even when the going gets tough! I'm trying to become a stronger person myself, so I'm always inspired by those people.

I hope that you enjoyed this tag and that you answer these questions yourself, I tag you all! If you've already done this tag, I would love to read your responses so feel free to link them below!

Tag | How Much Is My Face?

Earrings Miss Selfridge | Top New Look
I've seen this tag post on quite a few blogs and I wanted to see how much my face makeup was worth. I did this on a day where I wasn't planning to make this post, so is genuinely what I would wear if I was going out in the day. Just so you know, my eyebrows aren't as weird as they look in the picture, it's just the dodgy lighting!

What I am wearing:
Rimmel Fix & Perfect primer in 002 - £6.99 (review HERE)
Max Factor Xperience foundation in Raw Silk 45 - £9.99
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer in light 2 - £4.19
Stila Angel Light powder in Shade B - £1
Bloom Pure Mineral blush in Rosie - £2.99
Benefit Sha La Lovely brown eyeshadow for my brows - Gift
Makeup Academy Eye primer - £2.50
Urban Decay Naked palette: Virgin, Sin & Toasted - £36 (review HERE)
2True liquid eyeliner in 1 - £1.99
Maybelline Colossal Volume Express mascara in Glam Black - £7.99
Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara - £2
Makeup Academy lipstick in Shade 8 - £1 (review HERE)
Barry M limited edition lip gloss - £4.49 (review HERE)

Total: £81.13

That's not as bad as some other posts I have seen! Rather pleased with myself. To be honest, I do use a lot of magazine freebies and Poundland products, so I haven't used the RRPs of them! I also haven't included brushes, but if you would like a post about my daily makeup brushes or any reviews then do leave a comment.
