My Top High Street Products

Top Favourite High Street Drug Store Products 2014 Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello lovelies! Today I thought I would share with you all some high street products that I've been really enjoying recently! I absolutely love using cheaper products from high street brands as I think they can do just a good of a job as the higher end brands. As a student, I don't have the money to buy endless amounts of expensive makeup, so I love finding some gems in my local Boots or Superdrug that I know work really well and that I can keep repurchasing without damaging my bank account! If you would like to see a selection of those gems that I love using on a day to day basis, then do keep on reading!

Top Favourite High Street Drug Store Products Sleek Face Form Real Techniques Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Sleek Face Form Palette in Light | LINK
I think Sleek is an amazing brand to buy face products from. The pigmentation of their blushers is incredible and is definitely comparable (and even better in some cases!) than ones from high end brands. As I have quite pale skin, I barely have to touch my brush into the pan to pick up plenty of colour for my makeup! The Face For Palette from Sleek is a brilliant all in one contouring kit that comes with a beautiful blush, bronzer and highlighter. This is the kind of product you can throw in your travel bag and know you have everything to create the perfect contoured cheek!

Real Techniques Brushes | LINK
These brushes are loved by nearly every blogger so it's only right that they deserve a place in my top high street products post! These brushes are great quality and apply makeup like a dream; they're pretty much the only brushes I use to do my makeup everyday! My top 3 from my collection are: the buffing brush, blush brush and deluxe crease eye shadow brush; with just these brushes I could easily create a whole makeup look! If you're looking to add some new brushes to your collection, definitely try out Real Techniques. You can even find them in places like TK Maxx and Fragrance Direct now which means you can get them at an even better price!

Top Favourite High Street Drug Store Products Rimmel Match Perfection Soap And Glory Archery Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 100 Ivory | LINK | Review
I've mentioned this foundation a few times on my blog recently, but I really have fallen in love with it! I've never seen the point to buying really expensive foundations when brands like Rimmel have it covered - pardon the pun! The Match Perfection foundation offers a light/ medium coverage that's buildable and has a beautiful dewy finish that I find perfect for my skin. I use this foundation every time I do my makeup and it works really well for either day or night time looks.

Soap & Glory Archery in Brownie Points | LINK
I absolutely adore this little brow product and I really don't know how I used to fill my brows in before I picked it up! The tinting side to Archery creates such a natural yet highly defined look that can be tailored to anyone's brow needs. The staying power of Archery is also amazing and I never find I have to top my brows up throughout the day! It is a little bit on the pricy side at £10 per pen, but this will definitely be one of those products I'll be forever repurchasing!

Top Favourite High Street Drug Store Products Seventeen Eye Shadow Trio Barely There Topshop Lips Lipsticks Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Seventeen Eyeshadow Trio in Barely There | LINK | Review
I personally think that Seventeen is one of those brands that's kind of dismissed by a lot of people, yet they do create some wonderful makeup items. The eyeshadow trio in Barely There is one of those products that gives you a complete eye look that takes very little effort at all. If I'm just popping out to the shops and want to go for a minimal makeup look, I always turn to this little trio to create a very subtle eye look. The shadows are very soft and easy to work with plus all 3 of the shades work perfectly together, this makes it perfect for travelling with! This is a great everyday product to keep in your makeup bag.

Topshop Lips Lipsticks | LINK | Review
The Topshop lipsticks have to be one of my favourite lipsticks on the market. They have an amazing formula, a wide selection of shades and aren't very expensive! I've picked out my favourite 3 which are: Crystal, Ditsy and Infrared, all of which are perfect for this time of year. These lipsticks are always my go to shades and I love wearing Ditsy for an evening makeup look. Crystal looks amazing for a wash of pink sparkle during the day and for me, Infrared can work as both a day and evening lip colour!

Top Favourite High Street Drug Store Products Garnier Micellar Water VO5 Pump It Up Dry Shampoo Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | LINK
Ever since trying L'Oreal's micellar water for the first time, I was hooked. It removes my makeup so well that I could never go back to using face wipes! After recently running out of my L'Oreal cleanser, I decided to try out the Garnier version as it seemed to have the exact same ingredients but comes in a much larger bottle. Where I buy a lot of my skin care products, I can pick both micellar waters for just £2.99 each (usually £4.99 in Boots) so it was sort of a no-brainer to try the Garnier one out! This removes your makeup instantly and works really well as a gentle toner. These cleansers are definitely the way forward for removing your makeup as they're so gentle yet effective keeping your skin clean and toned!

VO5 Plump It Up Dry Shampoo | LINK
When it comes to dry shampoo I always thought there was no better than Batiste, but then I tried this one from VO5. Don't get me wrong, Batiste dry shampoos are amazing and I do still use it from time to time, but I love the results I get from the VO5 Plump It Up Dry Shampoo. As I have quite fine hair that lacks volume at the roots, I always have to use from form of volumising product. Not only does the Plump It Up Dry Shampoo gives my hair some much needed volume, it also leaves it feeling and smelling amazing, plus it leaves literally no white residue behind on my hair! I also love the texturising spray from VO5 and these are the 2 main products I use to achieve volume in my hair on a daily basis!

So these are a selection of my favourite products from the high street that I use on a daily basis. I would love to hear what your favourite high street beauty products are as I'm always on the hunt to try out new things!

I've never been someone who applies facial sun lotion everyday. Despite knowing it's a great way to stop premature ageing and sun damage, I've always hated how sun screen felt on my face and under my makeup! As my skin is fair and quite sensitive, I do find I can burn very easily so it is quite silly that I've never researched into a product that I could use instead of a heavy sun lotion. A few weeks ago I was sent the Soap & Glory Feel Good Factor translucent BB cream and it seemed to be the perfect product to finally start helping protect my face from the sun's UV rays.

Feel Good Factor is a light weight lotion that you can use on your face and even your hands as a means to help prevent UV damage to your skin. It contains SPF 25 and also helps block out UVA and UVB rays. It has a form of "Suntrigger" technology which means little sun activated spheres help deliver extra protection to your skin when it needs it most as well as releasing vitamins C and E to protect the skin even further. After reading the box that the white tube of product comes in, I found that this really is a brilliant all-in-one type of lotion that helps combat a range of problems - not just sun damage! As well as being a sun protectant, it is also a form of serum and moisturiser and helps restore moisture back into the skin and leaves it feeling super soft and smooth. It's also a skin tone evener and a primer, so it helps your base makeup to apply evenly and look flawless!

Like I said before, I usually hate the way sun screen products feel on my skin. They're too heavy and always seem to leave this greasy/ oily layer to my skin which never lets my makeup stay in place. With the Feel Good Factor you don't have this problem at all! It feels like a light weight moisturiser on your skin and sinks in very quickly leaving it feeling soft and supple. I love applying Feel Good Factor after my moisturiser as a form of primer as I find it prepares and evens out the skin for makeup really well. It does leave a slight dewy finish to the skin, but this is easily covered up with makeup so shouldn't be a problem for people with oilier skins! Feel Good Factor is one of the nicest primers I've used, yes it contains a range of amazing ingredients that helps protect and nourish the skin, but it also helps my makeup stay put all day long - a perfect all in one product!

I think the only issue some people may have with this product is the perfumed scent. I personally think it has a lovely scent and is very fitting to Soap & Glory's trademark feel. However I know some people may not like having fragranced products on their face so this is definitely something to consider if you want to try it for yourself. Despite having sensitive skin, the scent has never been an issue for me and I find the smell disappears after a few minutes, especially once you've applied your makeup!

Overall I think that Soap & Glory's Feel Good Factor is an amazing multi-purpose product to keep in your makeup bag. As it has the sun protectant properties as well as being an amazing primer, it's going to be a product I'll be using all year round, especially in the Summer time! If you're looking for a great base product that offers SPF, then definitely give Feel Good Factor a whirl!

TK Maxx Beauty Bargains

TK Maxx Beauty Bargains Haul Belle Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello lovelies, I hope you've all had a lovely week and are now looking forward to the weekend! As it's currently half term, I've been taking a few days out to do a spot of much needed shopping and retail therapy. I recently took a trip to my local TK Maxx to see if there were any bargains to pick up. Usually I come out empty handed and become extremely jealous of people who find some amazing things tucked away in their stores. However this day was different and I was really chuffed to find some beauty items that I had actually wanted to try out for a long time!

Real Techniques Travel Essentials | £14.99 (RRP £20.99) | LINK
These Real Techniques brushes caught my eye straight away as I headed towards the beauty section in TK Maxx and I was really excited to see my favourite brush brand at such a good price! The only sets my TK Maxx had were the core collection and the travel essentials so I picked up the one that I didn't already own. In the Travel Essentials set you get: an essential foundation brush, a multi-task brush and a domed shadow brush. The 2 brushes I was really looking forward to trying were the shadow brush and multi-task brush as I knew I would get lots of use out of these! I love that the multi-task brush can be used for your powder, blush and bronzer which makes it a really useful brush to have in your collection.

TK Maxx Beauty Bargains Haul OPI Mini Treats Top 10 Nail Treatments Belle Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
TK Maxx Beauty Bargains OPI Nail Envy Chip Skip Rapidry Top Coat Haul Belle Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

O.P.I Mini Treats Top Nail Treatments | £7.99 (RRP £16.99) | LINK
I almost did a little dance when I picked up this mini set of OPI polishes! I've wanted to try Nail Envy for so long but was always put off by the really high price. So being able to test out 4 different nail treatments and top coats for under £8 sounded like an amazing bargain to me! In this "mini treats" set you get: Nail Envy, ChipSkip, OPI's Top Coat and RapiDry Top Coat. I know that these polishes are very small, but I'm someone who never uses up a nail polish so I know that these will last me a good amount of time. I've already started using the Nail Envy and if you would like to see a full review on how well it helps my nails (or any of the polishes in that matter), then do let me know in the comments!

TK Maxx Beauty Bargains Essie All In One Base Top Coat Nail Strengthener Haul Belle Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Essie All In One Base & Top Coat | £2.99 (RRP £8.99) | LINK
The final beauty product I picked up was yet another nail treatment - I think I'm obsessed! This time it was from Essie and it is their All In One base and top coat as well as a nail strengthener. As I have really weak nails (and it was only £2.99) I had to pick it up and give it a try. I've had great experiences with Essie's normal coloured polishes, so I'm expecting some good things from this product too! If you have tried this before do let me know how it worked for you, I'm really looking forward to giving it a try.

So this was everything I picked up the other day from TK Maxx. It's definitely a hit or miss kind of shop, some days there's absolutely nothing and others you can find little gems hidden away! It's always better too when you find things in the clearance section too, it's like double the bargain! Sorry that today's post is slightly shorter than normal hauls, but I hope you still enjoyed reading!

Have you found any bargains in TK Maxx recently?

Makeup Of The Day March Favourites 2014 Belle-Amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Makeup of the day using everything from my March favourite's!
Hello lovelies! Today I thought I would share with you a few of the beauty products that I've been loving over the past month or so. I didn't actually make a February favourite's post purely because there wasn't any new makeup items that I had been really loving. Over the past month I've been able to try some new products and luckily I have been really enjoying some of them! Once again there does seem to be a bit of a Soap & Glory theme going on in this post, I guess I've just become a really big fan of their products!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Fuchsia-Ristic | LINK
I featured this gloss stick in the shade Nudist in my January favourite's and because I loved it so much, I decided to try out some more shades. The shade that really caught my eye was Fuchsia-Ristic as it looked so bright and fun in the tube! Once applied, it leaves a really pretty wash of pink to the lips that's perfect for both day and night (if you want a more subtle lip colour). I adore the formula of these gloss sticks, they're super moisturising and smell amazing! Definitely a lip product everyone needs in their makeup bag.

Benefit Bag Gal Lash Mascara | LINK
I'm probably a good few years behind on loving this mascara but I received this as a Christmas present and finally started to try it out this month. Recently my Thick & Fast mascara just doesn't seem to work for my lashes, so I decided to give this very similar looking mascara a go! Benefit's Bad Gal Lash is amazing for adding lots of volume and length whilst keeping your lashes looking completely natural and clump free! I know the hype is now behind their They're Real! mascara (which I personally never got along with) but I think the Bag Gal Lash is so much better!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 100 Ivory | LINK
You may have seen my "battle of the Rimmel foundations" post a couple weeks ago and read that I've really been enjoying the Match Perfection foundation! I find this product is great for a light to medium coverage that looks completely natural. During the warmer months I much prefer a lighter base as it still lets your skin breathe in the hot weather! This foundation is also a really good match for my skin tone (hence the name!) and I find that it just makes my skin look so much nicer overall.

Soap & Glory Feel Good Factor Translucent BB Cream* | LINK
I've been using the Feel Good Factor translucent BB cream as a primer for a few weeks now and I've found that my skin feels so much softer and moisturised compared to when I was using the Urban Decay Beauty Balm. I like to apply this right after moisturising in the morning, but you can actually use the Feel Good Factor alone as a your moisturiser as well as being your primer and sun protector - a great multi-purpose product! This will definitely be a staple product in my Summer makeup routine!

Soap & Glory Archery in Brownie Points | LINK
My final favourite from March is yet another Soap & Glory product! The Archery brow tint and pencil is perfect for creating natural and defined looking brows in an instant! The brow tint easily fills in any sparse areas and helps my brows look fuller, whilst the pencil end is great for evening out the tint and defining the brows even more. For £10 this is definitely the most I've spent on a brow product as it's easy to use a simple matte eye shadow instead. But I personally think my brows look so much better than what they used to so this is an amazing product in my books!

I hope that you have enjoyed today's post and that you've discovered some new amazing makeup product to add to your collection! I would love to hear what products you've been loving recently, I'm always up for trying new things!
