Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayons Autumn Edition Red Island Plum Russian Review Swatches Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello everyone! A few months ago I wrote a review about some of the Color Boost Lip Crayons from Bourjois' original line of lip crayons. They have now brought out 2 new shades for the Autumn and of course I had to pick up both of them! The Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayons have to be one of my favourite lip products I've tried as their formula is so lovely and I find the shade selection is really good - everything from oranges, pinks and now to berry tones. The 2 new shades that Bourjois has released are perfect for this time of year which is how I knew that I had to have them both in my collection! I will go into some depth about their formula just in case you haven't read my last post (which you can read by clicking here).

The 2 new available shades from the Bourjois lip crayon range are: "Red Island" and "Plum Russian". Red Island is a gorgeous bright red that I think will be absolutely perfect for Christmas time. If you're one to shy away from wearing bold red shades then this lip crayon should help ease you into wearing them a bit more. As it has a balm finish, the colour isn't as intense as a regular lipstick so you should find it a lot more comfortable to wear! Plum Russian is a beautiful deep berry shade that's amazing for both the Autumn and Winter months. I've been wearing Plum Russian both during the day and at night and I have to say it's such a versatile shade to have in your collection. Again as it has that balm like finish, the colour isn't so "in your face" yet is still pigmented and gives your lips a good amount of colour. I think the 2 shades that Bourjois have brought out are really nice and both of which are colours that I like to wear on a regular basis at this time of the year.

As for the formula of the Color Boost Lip Crayons, they're a mixture of a lipstick, gloss and balm. They have a really lovely colour pay off with a glossy and moisturising finish, so these are the perfect lip products to pop in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day! They say that these last for around 10 hours which I wouldn't completely agree with but they do have a really good staying power considering they are just lip crayons. They also have a SPF of 15 which is perfect for protecting your lips from the sun all year round!

Finally the packaging of the lip crayons is really nice. The colour of the tube is the same colour as the actual product so you can always find the shade you're looking for if you're rummaging around in your drawer of lipsticks! They also wind up by twisting the silver part at the bottom of the tube which means you don't have to sharpen them. I also find that the lids are very secure and never come loose when they're in my handbag which is great!

Overall I absolutely love the new Color Boost Lip Crayons and I can't wait to see what shades Bourjois might bring out next season - hopefully some pastels for Spring! I think these are one of the nicest lip crayons on the market and I really don't mind parting with just under £8 per crayon as they really are worth the money. Thank you for reading and don't forget to check out my last review of the original shades from Bourjois's lip crayon range if you want to find out more about them shades!

Have you tried the new Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon shades?

Glamour Magazine Freebies | Nails Inc "Uptown Girl"

Glamour Magazine November 2013 Freebie Nails Inc Kate Spade Uptown Glamour Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestle Blog
Glamour Magazine November 2013 Freebie Nails Inc Kate Spade Uptown Glamour Swatches Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestle Blog

Hey everyone! Today's post is just a little mention about a really lovely freebie you can get with your Glamour magazine here in the UK. I know I'm a bit late for mentioning any magazine freebies this month but I thought I would actually try the product first and then give you a better review of it! In this month's Glamour magazine there is a choice of 4 Kate Spade Nails inc nail polishes to collect. You can choose between: Uptown Glamour (a metallic gold), Soho Silver (a metallic silver), Big Red Apple (a glossy bright red) and New York Noir (a glossy jet black).

The polish that I chose was "Uptown Glamour" which is a gorgeous metallic gold shade that looks amazing at this time of the year. I do have a lot of gold nail polishes but not very many with this kind of finish - plus I do love a good Nails inc polish so it would have been rude not to pick one up! I've worn this on my nails a couple times over the past few weeks and I have to say I am really impressed with its formula! As always this Nails inc polish applies very opaque and shiny so you could easily get away with wearing just 1 coat. With just 2 coats you have beautiful looking nails that can either be worn during the day or, if you add a glitter top coat for example, can be worn on a night out! As for how long it lasts, with a top coat I found it lasted a good few days on my nails before it started to chip. This is a great all round polish that's perfect for the Christmas season!

For £2 this really is a brilliant freebie to pick up, especially as it's a full size nail polish worth £11! Plus, if you are on a tight budget for Christmas this year, buying all 4 of the shades would make a lovely present for someone who's obsessed with nail polishes!

Have you picked up any of the Nails inc polishes that are free with Glamour magazine?
What other freebies have you spotted this month?

Makeup Of The Day | Every Day Autumnal Look

Makeup Of The Day Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Makeup Of The Day Everyday Autumnal Look Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Makeup Of The Day Every Day Autumnal Look Benefit Urban Decay Rimmel Collection Eyeko Makeup Academy NYX Stila Soap And Glory Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello lovelies! Now that it's coming up to Christmas, I like to change up my makeup so that it's a bit more glitzy and Autumnal. I love wearing sparkly and shimmery eye shadows on a day to day basis anyway but now that it's coming up to the colder months, I've been playing around with different shades I can wear. This is a look that I've been wearing to work quite regularly so it's still really nice to wear on an everyday basis.

So for this look I'm wearing my usual everyday base makeup. I very rarely change up my base makeup because now I've found a selection of products that works really well for me, I don't see a need to keep swapping it up. I love how the Urban Decay Naked Beauty Balm and the Benefit PoreFessional work together and leave my skin soft and smooth which means my foundation can apply evenly. The Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation is a perfect all year round product as it gives your skin that added glow it might be lacking during the colder months. To add some colour to my cheeks I've been using my favourite Autumn time blusher which is the NYX Powder Blush in Desert Rose. You may have seen this featured in my First Ever NYX Products post where I talked about it having a beautiful formula and being extremely pigmented!

For my eyes, I'm still loving my Benefit Stay Don't Stray eye primer as it really does help my eye shadow and concealer stay all day long. It also helps cover up any dark circles that I may have which is a huge bonus! As for my eye shadows, I actually went back to my Makeup Academy Undress Me Too palette which is a brilliant dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I used a mixture of Reveal and Tranquil over the lid as a base and then Wink, Devotion and Dreamy into the crease for a dark and defined look. Finally I added a bit of Shy to the inner corner to brighten up my eyes. As all of these shadows have a shimmery finish, it does create that glitzy look that I love wearing at this time of the year. To finish off the look I applied a medium line of the Eyeko liquid liner and smoked that out slightly with Obsessed and Corrupt; then applied my all time favourite mascara the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast in Superjet Black!

Finally for my lips, I've been using a combination of two Soap & Glory products that I've been really loving recently. Firstly I use the Super-Colour FabuLipstick in Pom Pom* which is a deep pink shade with a matte finish. Then, to add the glossy finish I apply a thin coat of the Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss in Clear*. This lip gloss actually has a really nice texture but I don't find it plumps up my lips that much.

So this is the type of look I have been wearing on a day to day basis for either work or college. I think it is really wearable despite having quite a bold lip and heavier eye makeup than usual. I really hope you enjoyed reading this post and do let me know in the comments below what you think of it!

Stila In The Light Eye Shadow palette Makeup Look Of the Day Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely day! I'm spending mine catching up on some blogging as I really haven't been posting as much as I would like to. Today I'm going to be reviewing an eye shadow palette that is really popular amongst many beauty bloggers. This is the Stila "In The Light" Eye Shadow palette that contains 10 beautiful neutral eye shadows plus a water-proof eye liner. I picked this up around my birthday as a little present to myself as I had been lusting after it for months! It's quite similar to the Urban Decay Naked palette so I didn't know whether I needed both in my collection, but I definitely do and I'm so glad I picked up this gorgeous little palette!

So as I said in this palette there are 10 neutral eye shadows ranging from mattes, shimmers and satin like finishes. All of these shadows are so easy to wear and you can create endless amounts of day and night time looks. You also receive a free full size Smudge Stick Water Proof Eye Liner in "Damsel" which is a highly pigmented dark brown colour that's perfect for everyday use. It defines the eyes really well and stays put pretty much all day long! The eye shadow shades in this palette are:

Bare - a matte ivory shade
Kitten - a shimmery champagne shade
Bliss - a matte beige pink
Sunset - a satin finish golden pink
Sandstone - a matte light brown
Bubbly - a shimmery gold
Gilded Gold - a golden brown with a slight shimmer
Luster - a dark aubergine with a slight shimmer
Night Sky - a shimmery gunmetal
Ebony - a matte black

I have used all of the shades in this palette to either create a subtle day time look or a more smokey look for a night out and they're all amazing! In the photo above I am wearing my favourite combination where I apply Kitten all over the lid, Bubbly to my crease and Sunset to the outer crease and lower lash line. Then I apply the eye liner in Damsel on my upper lash line and then smoke it out slightly with Luster. This creates a really pretty every day look that's perfect for college, work or a day when you're out and about! I find the shimmer and satin like shadows in this palette are definitely a lot more pigmented than the matte ones. This means the shimmers last all day on your eyes when paired with a primer but the mattes may need a slight touching up after a few hours. For me these eye shadows never crease and they always look amazing even after I have been wearing them for a good few hours. I can't fault the quality of these shadows - they're amazing and well worth the money!

One thing I'd like to mention is that even though Bare comes up pretty much non-existent on my arm, it's actually a really good all over the lid shade or one to use to blend out your eyeshadow. It's quite a light skin coloured shade so is perfect for those days when you don't want to wear a lot of eye makeup but want to even out colour on your eye lids!

As for the packaging of this palette, I really love it and I think the fact that it's light pink makes it so pretty! It also has a huge mirror on the lid of the palette so it makes it perfect to use on the go. The shadows are also a really good size plus I think it's great that they also included the free eye liner (which in itself is worth £13)! However it is only made from cardboard and isn't the more secure when it's shut, so you do need yo be careful when handling or travelling with this palette.

Overall I think this is a stunning palette that every girl needs in their makeup collection! It has every neutral shade that you would want plus at only £25, it's much cheaper than the original Urban Decay palette which is very similar. I would highly recommend this palette as I have used it nearly every day since buying it and I'm still absolutely in love with it!

Have you tried the Stila "In The Light" Palette before?
What are your thoughts on this gorgeous palette?

Review | Crazy For Hair Double Wefted Hair Extensions

Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a lovely week and are now looking forward to the weekend! I was recently contacted by an online company called Xtras which sells a whole range of discounted beauty and hair products. I was asked to try out some of their new Crazy For Hair Deluxe Double Wefted Clip In Hair Extensions and as my hair is quite long I went for the 20 inch length in the shade #6 Medium Brown. As my hair is ombre, it was best for me to go with a colour that would blend with the lengths of my hair rather than match my natural root colour. My hair has always been very thin and lacked in volume, so I was so excited to finally try out a pair of extensions and see what results they gave me!

The Crazy For Hair Double Wefted extensions are your typical clip in hair extensions that you can use and take out whenever you like. They are designed to give thickness, volume and length whenever you need it. These Deluxe Double Wefted extensions mean they have 2 wefts of hair sewn together to give extra thickness and volume to the wearer compared to standard 1 weft extensions. Also, as Crazy For Hair extensions are made from real Remy human hair they can be treated exactly like normal hair; the only thing they don't recommend you do is dye your Crazy For Hair extensions. I love wearing mine when my hair is down and slightly curly, so all I need to do with them is curl them a bit and pop them in! They are also designed to be tangle free and I can really agree that they are! When they came out of the packet them were smooth and really soft to the touch and after a month of using them they are still looking great and aren't tangled at all!

In this set, you get 8 separate hair extensions which all come with sewn on clips. This means you can either wear all at once for maximum volume, or just pick and choose to give your hair a pick me up! In this set you get:

1 x 8" weft with 4 clips
2 x 6" wefts with 3 clips
2 x 4" wefts with 2 clips
1 x 3" weft with 2 clips
2 x 2" wefts with 1 clips

As my hair is quite thin, I can't get away with wearing all of these pieces at once. For me I really enjoy wearing both 6" wefts across the back of my head as well as the 2" wefts at the sides to give my hair a bit of volume and lift (as seen in the last photo). I personally think they look really natural and give my hair so much added thickness which I love! Even though these are 20 inch extensions, they don't add any length to my hair as it's already pretty long, but I do love them for adding that much needed volume! As these were my first ever hair extensions they did feel a little strange to wear at first, but you do get used to them and even forget that they're in after a while! The clips that come on these extensions are really secure and grip the hair well. They are also slightly curved so will fit the natural shape of you head to make them comfortable!

As for the actual colour of my extensions, I went for #6 Medium Brown and they match my ombre so well that they blend into my natural hair perfectly. If you're undecided as to what colour you should go for, you can send either a photo or a lock of your hair to the lovely team at Xtras and they will skillfully match you to your perfect shade. There is a huge range of colours on the Xtras website (each varying in price) as well as 3 lengths: 15, 18 and 20 inches - so there's something for everyone!

So these are my opinions on my first ever set of hair extensions, and I think they're pretty good if you ask me! The hair is great quality and I love the results they give me. As for caring for your hair extensions, Xtras has a whole page of tips to care for them which you can read HERE. All I would say is make sure you wash them weekly with a gentle shampoo if you wear them on a regular basis and always use heat protection! I hope you enjoyed this review, especially if you're on the hunt for a new set - I would really recommend them!

Review | ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum

ESPA Optimal Skin Proserum Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
ESPA Optimal Skin Proserum Bottle Pipette Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
ESPA Optimal Skin Proserum Benefits Directions Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
ESPA Optimal Skin Proserum Sample Review Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum* | £48.00 (full size)

Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a lovely weekend! Today I'm going to be talking about a new product that I have been using in my night time skin care routine. A few weeks ago, along with many other beauty bloggers as part of a competition, I received a little 8ml sample of ESPA's latest skin care release called the Optimal Skin ProSerum. I have heard of the brand ESPA before but I haven't tried any of their luxury skin care products. In all honesty my skin reacts really well with high street products, so I've never had the need to invest into good products to keep my skin under control. However, after using this gorgeous serum for a couple weeks, I am very tempted to delve into the world that is high end skin care!

About the ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum
The ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum is a new revolutionary facial oil that helps strengthen and repair the skin by using a range of beneficial essential oils. Due to these oils, it also means that this serum is 99% natural and is suitable for all skin types (even oily/ blemish prone types as essential oils are absorbed into your skin) and all ages. Oils such as: Sunflower Seed extract, Tumeric Root extract, Rose Hip oil, Evening Primrose oil and many more work together to treat skin deep down to make it look and feel healthier and more radiant. I think this oil would be amazing for people with mature skin, but even at my age I still want to have healthy and supple skin as it means it will stay looking better in the long run!

How I include it into my skin care routine
So like I've said, I love using the Optimal Skin ProSerum as part of my night time routine. As it has such a strong scent of essential oils, it's perfect for helping you relax and giving you a better night's sleep. After cleansing and toning, I pat a few drops (using the pipette) of this into my face and neck and allow it to sink in for a couple of minutes; then I carry on with the rest of my routine. Once it's on your skin it absorbs very quickly and doesn't leave you feeling greasy at all! It's such a quick and easy product to include into your routine yet the effects are wonderful.

 Postives and negatives
In just a few uses I could feel my skin was a lot plumper, smoother and softer which also made it look so much healthier. I've also used this serum when my skin was really breaking out and I found it helped soothe the redness of my blemishes and helped fade any scarring left behind. As this serum contains a whole range of essential oils, the actual list benefits of the ProSerum is very long so click HERE to see the full list! To me, this really is a wonder working product and I can tell that if you used this serum for a long period of time, the results would be amazing!

My only niggle with this product is the price - at £48 for a 30ml bottle it is rather expensive. However as you only use a few drops at a time, I can see it lasting someone a long time. Plus if you're someone who likes to invest into their skin care routine, then this is definitely a product for you! As for me, if I happen to have a spare £50 laying around then I would buy this in a heartbeat, but being a student means that doesn't happen very often! As much as I would love to buy high end skin products, I I think I will have to make do with my good old high street brands for now.

Overall, the ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum is a beautiful product with amazing effects to the skin. If it was cheaper then I would happily purchase and repurchase this product in the future. If you're one to regularly use high end skin care, then I would highly recommend you trying this serum out for yourself - I guarantee you'll fall in love just like I have!

Autumn Picks My First Ever NYX Products Blush Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil Makeup Of The Day Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello everyone! I recently picked up a couple products from NYX which is a brand that I've wanted to try for ages! I've always envied US bloggers and vloggers as they have such easy access to this inexpensive yet brilliant quality makeup brand. Whilst wondering though town after work, I spotted a new shop that sold all kind of beauty and hair products at discounted prices - naturally I had to have a look around! To my surprise they had a huge range of NYX cosmetics from eye shadows to blushers, to lip glosses and palettes - I was spoilt for choice! In the end I decided to pick up only a couple items and if I fell in love with them, I thought I could come back for more!

The two products I decided to try were a Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in "Rust" and a Powder Blusher in "Desert Rose". Both of these shades looked perfect for Autumn as they're both deep red/ pink shades that would create gorgeous looks for this season. I knew I had to try a Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil as these are talked about so much in the blogging world, and I can see why! These are cream like eye shadows in a stick that can either work as an eye shadow base or as an actual eye colour. I like to use "Rust" as an eye shadow base as it gives my neutral eye shadows a burgundy tint. I find that it's great at helping my eye shadows stay on all day as well as giving my eyes a hint of Autumnal colour! I will definitely be picking up some more of these if I can find them as they were only £1.99 each!

As for the blusher, I am so impressed with the formula, texture and pigmentation (you may have seen it mentioned in my October Favourite's post!). "Desert Rose" is a gorgeous pink/ burgundy shade with a matte finish and is my current go to blusher for Autumn. As it's so pigmented, you literally just need to touch the blusher with your brush and you'll have plenty of product for your cheeks. As I'm quite fair, I'm not a fan of strong blusher so I like to wear mine quite subtle and natural. It wears on my skin really well and I hardly have to touch it up throughout the day. For £3.95 this is probably one of the nicest blushers I've tried and I really can't wait to pick up some more neutral shades for throughout the year!

So that's a quick little review and chat about my first 2 NYX products I've tried! Both of these products are still available on the NYX website so you can still try them out if you're in need of some new gorgeous Autumnal makeup! I would highly recommend these two shades as well as the actual Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencils and Powder Blusher lines - they're amazing value for money!

What are your favourite NYX products?
I would love to know what ones you would recommend!

Over the past month I've been enjoying a few new products which are mainly beauty and hair care related. I love swapping up my makeup in the Autumn as it means I get to wear more berry and burgundy shades. I've definitely been using my fair share of these colours so I thought I would show you a few of my top favourites I've been using on a regular basis. I've also swapped up my hair care routine a little so I will be talking about some new amazing products I've been using!

NYX Pressed Powder Blusher in "Desert Rose" | LINK
My first October favourite is a new blush that I picked up a couple weeks ago. This is NYX's Pressed Powder Blusher in "Desert Rose" which is a gorgeous burgundy/ deep pink shade. It's a perfect blusher for giving your cheeks a rosy glow in the colder months. One things that's really impressed me about this blusher, apart from the colour, is the formula! It's so pigmented that you literally need to tap your brush on to the product to give enough colour for both cheeks. Now I am quite pale skinned and I like to wear my blushers quite light, so I personally only need to use a small amount of product. I can tell this blusher is going to last me ages and I can't wait to pick up some more shades!

Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick in "Pom Pom" | LINK | SWATCH
Another one of my favourite products from the last month is a lipstick that you may have seen crop up in my Autumn & Winter Lipsticks post. This is Soap & Glory's matte lipstick "Pom Pom" which is a really pretty deep pink shade which a matte finish. I love this lipstick as it lasts all day (or night - it's the perfect every occasion lipstick) and it doesn't dry out my lips! This is my first every Soap & Glory lipstick and after trying "Pom Pom" I'm really tempted to pick up a few more!

Barry M Nail Paint in "Red Wine" | LINK
Now I think I speak for everyone when I saw that deep red nail varnishes are pretty much the perfect shade for the Autumn time. I was rummaging through my nail polish box a few weeks ago and I came across this Barry M Nail Paint in "Red Wine". I remember buying this ages ago but never properly tried it out - until this month! This is the perfect wine coloured nail polish with a gorgeous glossy finish. In just 2 coats you have opaque and beautiful looking nails that last really well. I highly recommend this shade for Autumn and Winter as it's such a pretty shade!

Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo & Conditioner | LINK
Recently my hair has been feeling so dry and tangled, so I decided to swap my shampoo and conditioner for the Herbal Essences Bee Strong ones which are designed for damaged hair. The smell of this shampoo and conditioner is so lovely as it contains honey and apricot extracts! After just 1 wash my hair felt so much better and looked a lot smoother. After using these two products for nearly a month, my hair is in a lot better condition so I will definitely continue to use these! I am thinking of getting my hair cut quite short again though just so I can really get rid of the damaged ends. It will be quite sad to part with my long hair, but I think that my hair needs to start over and be healthy again!

VO5 Plump It Up Dry Backcombing Spray | LINK
My final favourite of the month is the VO5 Plump It Up Backcombing Spray which also seems to double up as a dry shampoo! As my hair is quite long, it can lack volume at the roots so I thought this would be a perfect product to help with my problem. After spraying this to the roots of my hair, I can definitely see a noticeable difference in the volume, plus it helps banish any excess oils that I may have -  a perfect 2 in 1 product! It also keeps the volume for most of the day which is great considering I only paid £2 for this!

So these are a few of the products that I've been really loving over the past month! I hope you enjoyed this post and hopefully found some new products you want to try. If you've written an October Favourite's post then please leave the link below so I can come and have a read!
