Hello everyone! I can't believe today is the last day of February, yes it is the shortest month of the year, but this year is going way too fast. Spring is well and truly on its way which means out with the Winter makeup and in with the brights and pastels! Over the last few weeks I've been embracing the end of Winter and been wearing lots red lipsticks. I always associate red lip products with the Winter time as it does seem like a really festive shade. So I thought I would make a little post showing you a selection of the red lipsticks I've been wearing recently. I've devised each shade into its own category as to when I have most likely worn the shade, which should hopefully make this post more helpful to those looking for a particular shade for a certain occasion!

The Every Day Red | Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Red Island | LINK
One of the first red lipstick shades I've been wearing a lot recently is Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Red Island. This is a gorgeous bright pink-toned red that has a glossy balm like finish. I find this a perfect everyday red shade as it is really moisturising on the lips and does contain SPF 15 which will help protect your lips from the sun (yes, even in the Winter when it feels like the sun has given up on us)! It also has a buildable colour pay off, so whether I want a subtle red tint or a full on red lip look, I still can use this product to achieve both of these outcomes.

The Night Out Red | ELF Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red | LINK
Recently I've been loving a bold, bright pillar box red lip on a night out purely because it looks so lovely against dark hair and fair skin. To get this look I've been using ELF's Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red which comes in a thin pencil like tube that allows you to precisely apply the colour. I love that this have a matte finish as it lasts a long time on the lips (compared to the Bourjois shade I just mentioned) which is something you want on a night out - no one wants to keep reapplying lipstick every 5 minutes!

The Vampy Red | Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107 | LINK
I'm all for a vampy red lip during the Winter time, in fact, I'm really going to miss being able to wear the Kate by Rimmel lipstick in 107 during the Summer. Of course you could still wear it on a night out but I think this lipstick looks amazing paired with a simple eye look of winged eye liner during a Winter's day. This is a perfect bold, statement lipstick and is always the shade I go for when I want a deep and vampy look.

The Your Lips But Better Red | Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Drop Of Sherry | LINK
I do tend to feature this lipstick shade on my blog quite a lot, but it's just too pretty not to include! I always gravitate toward Drop Of Sherry as, for me, it's that perfect light red shade that gives your lips a bit of oomph to make them look a 100 times better! I also like that it has a tint of orange to it which makes the shade suit my skin tone really well. This is one of those effortless lipsticks that everyone should have in their collection as it's great for creating a simple yet beautiful makeup look.

The Sparkly Red | MUA Lipstick in Shade 8 | LINK
My last favourite red lipstick is one of my all time favourites. MUA's Shade 8 is a beautiful pink toned red with lots of glitter in. Now, "glitter" may sound horrible but it does apply really evenly and still feels smooth on the lips. I like to call it "Christmas in a tube" because it really is one of those festive shades that perfect for the Winter time. This is another shade I'll really be missing wearing during the Summer as it does look so lovely on the lips and makes me feel all festive and happy when I wear it!

So these are a selection of my favourite red lipsticks that I've been wearing recently. As it comes closer to Spring, I'm thinking that I'll do similar posts to this but base them around other colours such as oranges, pinks, nudes - what ever you would like to read! Do leave colour and shade suggestions in the comments below, I'm always up for trying out new lipsticks!

What is your favourite red lipstick shade?

What's In My Bag?

Whats In My Bag Spring 2014 Product Overview Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Whats In My Bag Spring 2014 Makeup Beauty Essentials Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello everyone! Today I thought I would do an updated version of what I keep in my everyday hand bag. I love reading these sorts of posts as I'm really curious (nosey more like!) as to what other people keep in their bags. The last time that I did this post was almost 2 years ago, so my bag and its contents have definitely changed since then. If you would like to compare my new What's In My Bag post to my old one, click here to read it!

My bag was from the Oasis Christmas sale at the end of last year and I don't believe it's available anymore. This bag is a gorgeous tan colour made from a faux leather material. It clips together with a magnetic popper and the ruched effect detailing is created by the gold clip at the front. I do wish this bag had a zip on it to make it a bit safer, but I adore how it looks!

There are certain products that are essential to keep in my bag at all times. My purse and phone are probably at the top, and I'm sure they are for many people. I also like to keep my diary and pen so that I know whether I have to be somewhere at a particular time or whether I'm free on a certain date. I also like to keep a hand sanitiser and cream as I do suffer with very dry hands, especially in the Winter time! I've been using the Cath Kidston Blossom hand cream recently which comes in a really pretty tube and this keeps my hands feeling moisturised all day long.

As for makeup essentials, I always bring my face powder and a travel sized brush with my for touch ups throughout the day. I also like to keep a mini Bad Gal Lash mascara and my lip product of the day with me. I feel that with these 3 makeup products in my bag I can refresh my makeup look in a matter of minutes and then I can get on with my day.

If you were looking closely, you may spotted a random mini tube of toothpaste - don't worry, I'm not weird and like to brush my teeth on the go. I actually had a dentist appointment earlier this week and I picked up a free travel size toothpaste and completely forgot to take it out of my bag!

I'm quite proud to admit that I don't seem to hoard too much rubbish in my bag as I do like to clean it out on a regular basis. However, I am one to keep one too many lip products in my bag and completely forget that they're even in there! As you can see there are 7 different kinds of lip products currently sitting in my bag ranging from balms, glosses, crayons and lipsticks! Every time I leave the house I always have to bring the lip colour that I'm wearing, so over time I end up lugging around pretty much my entire lip product collection!

So this is everything that's currently sitting in my bag (minus the toothpaste, I've taken that out now haha)! Thank you for reading today's post, I really hope you enjoyed it. If you've written a What's In My Bag? post then do let me know in the comments as I love reading them!

Tag | What Beauty Product?

The What Beauty Products Tag Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog
Photo from weheartit.com and edited by myself.
Hello lovelies! Recently I've been struck by the dreaded "blogger's block" and for the life of me I couldn't seem to get a post together. After last night's #fblchat on Twitter (my username is @beautybelleamie if you didn't know!) I was on a mission to get my blogging mojo back and find a post that I would be able to write. After looking around I thought that a tag would be my best bet to get me back into the writing spirit - but I thought I would go 1 step further. Yes ladies and gentlemen I decided to actually come up with my own tag, include some random questions that I thought up and post it here on my blog. I love tag posts where you get to know what sort of products are a blogger's favourite and what ones they will turn to in a certain situation, so I based my questions off of that.

In the end I came up with the idea of a "What Beauty Product?" tag where you are put into a certain situation and asked what beauty product you would use. It's pretty simple but it's the kind of tag post that I find really fun to read and hopefully you all will too!

1. You’re about to head out for a night out with the girls. What lipstick and lip gloss combo do you put on to make yourself feel gorgeous?
At the moment I'm really into wearing red lipsticks - the brighter the better as well! When ever I've been going out recently, I've been wearing ELF's Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red which is a perfect pillar box red shade with a matte finish. As it's matte I find that it will last me pretty much all night as it really does stay put on the lips. Instead of a lip gloss, I usually pop a bit of The Body Shop's Born Lippy in Strawberry over the top as it has a slight red tint and gives it a glossy finish.

2. You’re running late for school/ work and need to leave the house in 5 minutes! Which 3 essential makeup products do you apply for a naturally beautiful look?
Usually I would give myself plenty of time to get ready in the morning to avoid situations like this so for me, this would be a nightmare haha! I would definitely pop on my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes just to even out my skin tone. Then I would apply some of my Stila Angel Light face powder to give my skin a shine-free finish. Finally I would have to put on some of my Soap & Glory Thick & Fast mascara as my eyes look so bare without anything on!

3. You’re packing for a week away on holiday. What “all in one” eye shadow palette do you bring with you?
I'm going to have to be really boring and say my Urban Decay Original Naked palette! I absolutely adore this palette as it contains a variety of shades that would have me set all week whether I wanted to create a day or night time look.

4. You’re heading to the beach on a Summer’s day and will be wearing your favourite bikini. What nail polish shade do you wear on your fingers and toes to complete the look?
In the Summer I love wearing bright nail polishes! I would probably go for a bright hot pink on my toes as that's what I usually paint them at that time of year. As for my fingers, I would go for a bright mint shade like Nails Inc's Royal Botanical Gardens.

5. You’re getting ready for a date night to a new restaurant in town. Which perfume do you pick out from your collection to impress him?
I would go for my most sophisticated yet girly scent in my collection and that would probably be Dolce & Gabbana's The One. I really do love this scent and I think it's perfect for a date night!

6. You’re spending the weekend away and you only want to pack your beauty basics. What 3 brushes/ tools do you bring to do your makeup?
I would definitely take my Real Techniques Buffing Brush as this is what I use everyday to apply my foundation. I would also take my powder brush (which could double up as a blusher brush) which is The Body Shop Face & Body brush. This brush is so lovely, it's super soft and applies pressed or loose powder perfectly! The final beauty tool I would take with me are my eye lash curlers as I think they make such a big improvement to my lashes when I use them.

7. You’ve just woken up to crazy bed hair and have no time to wash it. What hair products do you use to tame your unruly locks?
Unfortunately, I wake up with this problem on a very regular basis haha! I would apply a small amount of Wella's SP Luxe hair oil to the ends of my hair to smooth out any frizziness and to help nourish it. I would then spray a bit of V05's Plump It Up dry shampoo to refresh my hair (trust me, it smells gorgeous!) and give it a bit of lift at the roots.

8. Your friend wants to expand her makeup collection and asks for your help. What high street product and what high end product do you recommend her to try?
The one high street makeup product I would recommend to anyone are the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons. I think adding a variety of lip colours into your collection is really important and I love the selection that Bourjois do. Plus the formula of their lip crayons is amazing and work out great value for money! As for the high end product, I would have to say any of the Urban Decay Naked palettes! I have the Original, Basics and Naked 3 and I adore them all so I would recommend her to pick out one of them.

So that's the What Beauty Product? tag. I really hope you enjoyed this tag and that you will go and answer these questions on your blog - I would love to see how all of you would respond to them! I tag every one who reads this post as it's really fun to answer.

I tag everyone to do the What Beauty Product? tag!
Please let me know in the comments if you do this tag and leave the link below!

Review | Dermalogica Skin Care

Hello everyone! For me skin care is such an important routine and I believe that using the right products is key in order to achieve beautiful looking skin all year round! I have been using and learning about the brand Dermalogica at college for nearly 2 years now and I have learnt all about the amazing benefits of using these highly effective products on a day to day basis. Despite knowing all this and loving them so much, I have never actually tried them in my everyday skin care routine (mainly due to the high end price). I was recently contacted by a new online skin care company called Beauty900 and was asked to try out a few of the Dermalogica products that they sell on their website. I didn't know exactly what products I would be receiving but I couldn't wait to be able to finally test out some of their products in my skin care routine!

I was sent a small selection of travel sized products including 2 very popular products from the Dermalogica line as well as the Daytime Radiance set. I was very excited to give all of these products a try and after a month of doing so, I'm now ready to share my thoughts and experiences with these skin care items!

Please do bare in mind that I have a young dry/ normal skin type so not all of these products will work in the same way for you as they did for me!

Dermalogica Daytime Radiance Set* | £18.00 | LINK
Firstly I was able to try the Daytime Radiance set that contains 3 miniature products that together help create a flawless base for your makeup plus help protect your skin throughout the day. The 3 product that come in this set are: the SkinPerfect Primer, the Dynamic Skin Recovery moisturiser and the MultiVitamin Power Firm. This little set is targeted at ageing skin but so technically I'm not in the right age group to see the full effects from using these products. However, depending on your skin type, these product can still work wonders for your skin!

The SkinPerfect Primer is probably my favourite product out of the 3 as it's a great everyday primer to apply underneath your foundation to help it last all day! It has a matte finish plus has a hint of colour which I find helps your foundation to blend flawlessly into your natural skin colour. It also has a really smooth texture that makes your skin feel soft to the touch all day. Plus with the added SPF 30 you know that your skin will have that added protection from using this product on a daily basis. I've really enjoyed using this product and as you only need a small amount of this to cover your face, it will last very long time too!

Next up is the Dynamic Skin Recovery daily moisturiser and unfortunately this is a product I've had a love/ hate relationship with. It has a lovely rich texture that blends into your skin beautifully and really feels like it is treating your skin. The only problem I had with this product is that it didn't feel like it was actually hydrating my skin and as I have dry/ normal skin, this did feel slightly uncomfortable during the day. For me, I do love a moisturiser that really hydrates my skin, so using this alone wasn't the best for my skin type.  As much as I like the thick, rich texture of this product I did have to stop using this after a while as it really wasn't suitable for me. I do think that if you have an oilier skin type that needs a lighter moisturiser formula, then this will sit much better with you!

The final product from the Daytime Radiance set was the MultiVitamin Powder Firm. Now this is definitely the product out of the 3 that I knew I wouldn't see much benefit from as I do have very young looking skin. This is a gel like product that feels like a really smooth primer that helps combat fine lines and wrinkles. Whilst I can't give you a definitive review of this product, I can say that the texture is beautiful and it does apply smoothly to the lip and eye areas. I think that the more mature lady or gent will really love using this product as it's packed with vitamins to help the overall appearance of your skin. If I was a bit older then I would love to have a product like this in my skin care routine, but for now it really wouldn't make much of a difference!

Dermalogica Active Moist Moisturiser* | £41.00 (full size) | LINK
The next product I was able to try was a travel size version of one of Dermalogica's best selling moisturisers; Active Moist. This is targeted at oily skins as it has an oil-free formula that is light on the skin. Again, this is another product that isn't designed for my skin type so I personally felt it was far too light for my skin. I do however find that this is the perfect moisturiser to use for a night out when you want your makeup to stay in place all night due to the oil-free formula! This has been the only time I've really tried this moisturiser and on this occasion I did really like it so I will definitely be saving it for my nights out with the girls!

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator* | £38.50 (full size) | LINK
Last up is my favourite product out of all of the Dermalogica skin care I was able to try and this is the Daily Microfoliant which you may have seen in my January favourite's post! Having dry skin means a daily exfoliator is essential to have bright and clear looking skin. Daily Microfoliant is a finely milled rice bran powder exfoliator that you mix with water in order to create a creamy consistency. As the exfoliating particles are so small, it feels really gentle on the skin that it's perfect to use everyday as part of your skin care routine. I found that within just 1 week my skin looked so much brighter and clearer as well as feeling really soft! I can see why so many people love this product and if I could afford to repurchase this (oh the joys of being a student), I would definitely keep on using it.

So these are my thoughts on a small selection of products from Dermalogica. Please do remember that everyone's skin type is different, so what works for you may not work as well for me! Every one of these products is lovely and does what they are meant to do, just not all are suitable for my skin type. If you are interested in trying Dermalogica's skin care line, then do try out the Beauty900 face mapping service that will help find the right products for you!

Have you tried Dermalogica's skin care line before?

January Favourites 2014 Belle-amie UK Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Blog

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. I cannot believe how quick 2014 is going already and that we're already in February! For the first post of this month I thought I would do my January Favourite's which will be about the beauty products I have been loving over the past month. As this was the month after Christmas, I did have quite a few new products to try out so I narrowed it down to just a few of my main favourites from January. I have been noticing that every month I seem to be loving one brand in particular, and this month I've definitely stuck to that theme. So for my January Favourite's say hello to Soap & Glory overload!

E.L.F Studio Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red | LINK
So one of the first products I've been loving in January is a lip product from ELF and this is the Studio Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red. This is one of the first products by ELF that I have ever tried (I also go the shade Tea Rose but I found that made my lips look dead!) and so far I am really impressed. This has been my go to red lip colour for the past month and I absolutely love the shade, formula and how long it lasts on my lips, especially when I wear it out for a meal! These lip colours are really inexpensive yet work so well and last ages. I'll definitely be picking up some more of these!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist | LINK
Next up is another lip product and this is Soap & Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist. This is a gorgeous nude/ pink that is great for wearing during the day. It's that "your lips but better and glossier" shade so is perfect to pair with a really natural makeup look or on a night out with a more smoky eye! One of the main things about these gloss sticks that I love is the scent, it's gorgeous! Every time I apply this lip product I have to give it a good sniff because it's that nice. The formula is also amazingly smooth and leaves your lips feeling really soft!

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant* | LINK
In January I did swap up my skin care routine a little and started to try out a new exfoliator and cleanser. The exfoliator I have been using is the infamous Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and I for one absolutely love it! For me and my dry skin, an exfoliator is essential in my skin care routine, but most of the ones I have tried are very harsh and rough. Daily Microfoliant is a finely milled powder that you mix with water to produce a smooth yet effective exfoliator that's gentle enough to use every day! I've found my skin looks and feel so much better after using this in January and I really don't want this little pot to run out! I will be doing a full review on the Daily Microfoliant soon (plus some other Dermalogica goodies!) so keep an eye out on my blog if you want to read more about it!

Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean Cleanser | LINK
For my new cleanser, I have started to use the Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean deep purifying cleanser again. This is now my second bottle of this cleanser and I've found it's really good at keeping away any major blemishes as well as keeping my skin soft and thoroughly cleansed. I was quite worried to try this on my sensitive skin as I've heard some people have had some nasty experiences with it. But for me it's worked wonders and I would highly recommend anyone to give this cleanser a go, especially as it's currently on offer in Boots!

Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl Eye Liners | LINK
My last favourite from January are a few makeup items that I picked up in the sales after Christmas. I had wanted to try Soap & Glory's eye liners for a while now and when I ran out of pencil eye liners I thought it would be good to pick up the Crazy Sexy Kohl Eye Liner set in the Boxing Day sales. Out of the set I have been using 3 of the liners on a regular basis: Cocoa Bean, Superblack and Grapevine. The black and brown are perfect for an everyday eye look as they last all day and create a natural definition to the eye. I've also been loving adding Grapevine, which is a gorgeous metallic purple shade, to my lash line as this looks amazing against brown eyes! I absolutely love the formula of these liners and as they are waterproof, they stay put all day! I highly recommend these if you're on the look out for a new eye liner.

So these are a selection of products that I've been really enjoying throughout January! I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to hear about what beauty products or fashion items you've been loving recently! Thank you for reading and I'll speak to you soon.
